Here we go, Rail Express Feb 2007...
'The identites of the 11 Class 158s due to transfer to South West Trains from First TransPennine during 2007 (see RE128 ) have now been revealed, Nos. 158737/42-4/73/5/9/81 and 158801/2/8. Of note is the inclusion of 158808, this having been removed from the Class 159/1 programme, which as a result will now only total eight units, Nos. 159101-8.
The transfers will also bring the disabandonment of hybrid TPE triple sets Nos. 158975/6, both arriving at Heaton during mid-January for this to take place, whilst it is anticipated that once these Porterbrook-owned units arrive, Angel sets Nos. 158786/9 will be taken off-lease. What is unclear is the fate of the centre cars from Nos. 158801/2/8 as these are scheduled to be removed from the units before transfer south.'
From RE128, it was said about the extra 11 sets due to arrive during 2007, will replace the remaining '170s' as well as strengthening the diesel services as per the franchise commitment. Also, the 159/0s are to be sent for refurbishment during 2007.
