Found this in an old 1990 Rail Mag'

Proposal for a 159 to replace the 50's

Looks a bit fatter than the ones we have now - same livery as the Pigs originally carried.

Like the 159 1's - we used to be able to see out of the bulkhead door too.

Why did the 159's have their centre window removed/plated over and not the 159/1's?

Just something they did when they repainted them into the SWT livery. Only a coat of paint unless they've changed it since.

I58/9's - easiest corridor connection ever. unlock pull bulkhead door back, pull flyscreen back. Sorted - 5 seconds (or less).
