I watched it for a while a few weeks ago when someone linked to it on another forum. Saw a few near misses then.

Looks like an accident waiting to happen. And I hear the crossing has listed status, don't know it that's true or not. Crossings are dangerous enough anyway, but that one with all the tourists and fans is just mad.

If you're impressed by that, tune in at virtually any time during the day. People are constantly doing it.

Google streetview shows the crossing with building site fences either side of it to stop people from crossing it and taking pictures, but is that only a peak time thing?

On the webcam of course, you can see people all day in the middle doing Beatles style pictures. Quite dangerous. Off topic a bit but I like the poster at Abbey Road DLR instructing passengers they are at the wrong Abbey Road.

Well there's not much that can be done about it, short of removing the crossing, but then how would people get across the road?

It's not the actual crossing used on the album cover anyway, as I believe it was moved some time ago.

Yes, it has Grade II listed status. The really odd thing is that the crossing isn't even in the same place as when made famous by The Beatles!
