Hi Guys,

My application went in last night and I complete first assessment.

I was invited to take the next assessment...however, it froze on me part way through. I tried again, and it said that it had identified that there were problems and do I want to fix it...which I did. Again same issue encountered.

Tonight it is saying I completed the assessment, which I haven't. Anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts/tips?

Cheers,
Gazz.

what does the initial concentration test entail once you've submitted your application? Is it words / numbers / scenarios etc?

You get a sequence of numbers, eg 123456 on the left side, then several similar options on the right side, eg 123465, 132456, 123456, 124356 and you have to pick the one that matches. The hard part is you have to be very quick - you only get a couple of seconds to pick.

I managed to complete it in the end and to be honest found it quite difficult!

Gaz + jenson, after i finished the practice test the screen froze on 'log out'. My status on the first group site also said completed, so i used the back button on the test site to get back to the start screen, did one more practice then took the test. Everything seems ok now.

I have had to email HR to see if they can reset the assessment, as it just states complete...even though I never got past the second section freezing.

Cheers,
Gazz.

We'll I have applied so let's see what happens. Fingers crossed.
Quite disappointed with the recruitment procedure so far however. I have been successful in my application with FGW passing all assessments and the DM interview 3 months ago,but not given any more info despite numerous calls emails etc

Anyway, shall await with baited breathe as to wether I will get anywhere here. My initial application was in April last year, but as my previous application could be classed as still in motion it might just get chucked out with the 6 month rule.

That said, I am slightly dubious as believe these will go internal, as in the grand scheme of things it does bode well for a company to recruit and promote from within where possible as it increases morale etc, and in all honesty i think this is the best policy.

That aside, I wish everyone the best of luck!

Do you get invited to complete the second assessment straight away as I've only done one?

I had trouble with the assessment too,it gave me an error code using I.E. and said on the first site I'd completed it. I reported this to the helpline, then logged in using Google Chrome and completed the assessment this time around. Got confirmation I passed today and I've booked a telephone interview for next week.

Just sorting my application out now. Once I apply, am I then taken straight to the online tests?

Following that, how long is it taking you guys before you get offered a telephone interview?

Seems alot of trouble for 1 position likely to be filled internal

What would you suggest then? Not bother trying? Even if you're right pursuing the job could lead to people sitting and passing the assessments, and any experience gained in the process is going to be valuable.

Update. I have applied for the Barrow role and completed the first assessment which is the 18 questions regarding the different scenarios etc. I will await further developments.

How long did everyone else wait to hear back about the second assessment/phone interview?

I received the email with the second assessment about 10 minutes after completing the first one. I received the email with the telephone interview offer about 12 hours after completing the second assessment successfully.

So I should start to worry as I applied over an hour ago :(

Hi Guys,

Phoned the helpline and they told me they had reset the assessment. Arrived in and it still says complete.

My 48 hours is up soon, so looks like technology has knocked me out of the running for this position.

I have emailed the HR/careers team and informed them of the issues, but I don't think I will get anywhere.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Gazz.

I applied a couple of hours ago and got the 2nd assessment 5-10 minutes after completing the first one.

Has it showed up as being available to you if you log in to the website to check your job status?

Oh, not looking good then. Unless maybe because it's out of hours?

Logged in and it says Online assessments. To do - zero. Completed - one. Although mine is for the Barrow vacancy, I am hoping they may be doing it differently, but somehow I doubt it.

I've just booked my telephone interview. There was plenty of slots available for me to choose from on the 5th, 6th and 7th of March.

just an update... with so many phone interviews getting booked up they are continually making appointments available.
I received another email saying that if i didnt book my appointment they would take it as though i didnt want to progress.
Called HR who said to ignore this as they are aware of the issues and low and behold- telephone interviews available on 3rd march. Just a weekend to practise in time with examples

Good Luck everyone
