I remember a couple of months ago that the Freds said they were going to build a model 442, hows it going chaps???

On a different note my dad has nearly got my little steam loco going!

I'd love to see a picture.
How big is this 442? What livery? And how much have you done of it so far?

Shown it before, but I'll show it again (since I highly doubt we'll be seeing a pic of another 442 in this thread...)

I've seen that before, and it really is amazing. How did you do it and how long did it take?

I agree (again) ;) but the one question i didnt ask last time, obviously this far away its impossible to tell the paint job, was it sprayed or brushed?

Thanks  It took around 6 months to complete the whole thing, obviously not working solid through that! You build it up little bits at a time - the brilliance of the Hurst kit. I haven't done any work on it in a while though, it still needs fine details. It was hand painted because I dont have access to an airbrush, but when I do it will be stripped and airbrushed professionally...maybe in Gatex livery... ;) I do have several on order to build up over my lifetime...

You should do another and see what it goes for on eBay. I reckon nearing £100 at least.

Plan was to do 3 so I could run a 5WES and a 10WES, hopefully that will happen over time. If I get into a groove for building them I could well knock them up quicker and put them on ebay - I have seen a few go on there for over £100 which weren't completely accurate, so a very well detailed model will go for quite a bit.
