BVE 4 to BVE 2 Train Conversions

Class 31 for BVE2, based on the BVE 4 version at BVETMD, available at http://www.bvetmd.co.uk/downloads.htm.

Classes 37/4 (passenger and freight versions) and 170, based on the BVE 4 versions at TSC, available at http://www.trainsimcentral.co.uk/mainline_train_downloads_bve2.

Features include semi-functional AWS (on suitably equipped routes such as Blighton-Treston Park and Sandymill Electric) and a digital kph speedometer above the safety systems panel.

The orginal BVE2 37s has the same sounds as the BVE4 version anyway. So really just a change of cab.

Also to note you can get pretty much any train working in BVE2 with BVE Route Randomiser.

You can't use a BVE 4 train in BVE 2. :???:

If you were talking about loading BVE 2 routes in BVE 4, with the BVE 4 train: that's usually possible, but I think that without significant upgrades to those routes, you're often better off running those routes in BVE 2. There's graphics problems that only are noticeable in the higher resolution, loss of information markers, wrong signals, issues with the safety systems and rail adhesion, and so forth. Besides, some people have trouble with BVE 4 because their computers are a little underpowered or because of Vista. (As far as I'm aware, BVE 2 runs fine under Vista - is that true?)

I'll also admit to a certain fondness for the BVE 2 interface, but I suspect I'm in the minority on this.

BRR or no BRR, how would you get anything other than BVE's complaining that it can't find panel.cfg? Can you please give me an example of a BVE 4 train that you managed to use in BVE 2?

I would but I've yet to install BVE again after my HDD failure. Looks like you have not used BRR to try this. I think you will find that it works.

I used to use the 455 on the Ashford route as it was pretty much the only decent 3rd rail route. I've also used the 37 on the Springburn route as with the 66 and more.

I believe that, but I still think you need to run these combos of BVE 2 route and BVE 4 train in BVE 4. Why don't we continue this argument once you have reinstalled BVE?
