It was both Lucky and Unlucky for me today, train delayed into Euston, then after getting around to Euston Square, getting on the Underground, and getting to Liverpool St. Underground Platform with 3 minutes to spare before my train was due to leave! Followed by a mad dash up to the mainline station onto the platform and onto the train by the end door!

Travel in Grimsby was unlucky. Not on the trains though.
2 people got ran over on the main road outside Town station (none life threatening injuries). This meant at 11am-12noon no buses could get to the rail station, that must of coursed panic for some.
And the council have annouced a dozen roadworks schemes today.
My bus (2in a row today) had a driver who was grumpy and requested to handle my weekly bus ticket as if it was fake! Then he refused to let my poor old mum on in town because she had a trolley despite this bus being the almost empty one.

As usual I had no issues at Waterloo :D 1801 Hounslow to Waterloo was my train today. But there was heavy rain shortly after, which probably contributed to the signalling problems at Liverpool Street. As well as my DLR train doing an emergency stop halfway into Royal Albert (accompanied by red light on the panel and long beep). Luckily it picked itself up after a few seconds, but there was wheel slip in many places, something I don't ever recall on the DLR (not the emergency stop though).

All the issues mentioned so far pale in to insignificance for the passengers on the 18:08 London Bridge to Uckfield line.

As the train approached Edenbridge there was an announcement there was a tree on the line in the Cowden area, and we'd be held at Hever.

So the train gets to Hever and indeed we sit there. An up train comes up, presumably having passed the tree on the single track, however it reports the line is impassable, so we are stuck at Hever until Network Rail can get out to clear the tree or Southern can organise buses.

However this is shortly followed by an announcement that Hever is inaccessible to buses as the road is too small, so they have ordered taxis. It's Friday night, its raining, and Southern are trying to find enough taxis to move the passengers on a 8 full carriage train.

Some passengers suggest the train goes back to Edenbridge because at least buses can get there, however apparently that can't be done bcause they have ordered taxix, no idea why they couldnt divert the taxis!

After 2 hours the Southern ordered taxis and mini-buses start arriving. I managed to get on a mini-bus (transit) supplied by one of the rail replacement bus companies. The driver was told to take us straight to Crowborough, which should have been relatively easy. Out to the B2026, straight down it and pop over Ashdown Forest to Crowborough. However the driver decided to go the rail replacement bus route via all stations, albeit without stopping which is a significantly longer route, however I guess it was the one he knew and no one told him any different.

Anyway have to say the Guard and Driver did their best in difficult circumstaces. The Guard did say he was pleased it had happened on the Uckfield line because the passengers are the most patient/resigned!

The GEML ran almost like clockwork with what was nearly a 100% morning peak let down by the WA side. Even the short-hauled set behaved itself. Off the rails though a Norwich City centre bus collided with a car & a removals lorry before ending up embedded in scaffolding on a nearby building site.

A trolley? Can you clarify please?

No it's not a big supermarket trolley.
It was a small lightweight shopping trolley like many elderly women use but this had 4 wheels and it's folds up. There was room on the bus at all 3 pram sections and the luggage rack above the wheel. The driver was just concerned about winning the race against the other bus as they were 2 in a row. So he wanted to slow the other bus down, it didn't work as all buses got to the end at the same time.
My Mum needs the trolley to walk.

Friday 13 Feb. Trespass incident near Lancaster. Three dogs got on line - so owner went after them.

But not as bad as on 14 Feb. Wires down just south of Coventry. LM services suspended between Northampton, Rugby & Coventry - wonder why they could not terminate at Rugby rather than Northampton ?
(RTT showed LM 07:05 ex-Euston terminated at Coventry - 264 minutes late. )

This was my train. The wires came down on the rear set of the 8 car and we came to a stand at the last signal before Coventry on the down at 0905, where we remained until eventually dragged away by a 57 at 1245. 95 extremely frustrated passengers. The culprit was a pigeon hitting the OLE.

Services terminated at Northampton rather than Rugby as many of the traincrew that work the Northampton down to New St section are Coventry and Birmingham based and therefore were displaced.
