To quote the article

An investigation is to be carried out after two trains were involved in a "low-speed" collision at Cambridge station.

Four passengers reported minor injuries following the crash at around 10am. They were treated at the station.

A spokesman for Great Northern said: "Shortly after 10am this morning one of our services was involved in a low-speed incident in platform 7 of Cambridge station.

"This was the 09.14 King's Cross to Cambridge service, a four carriage class 365 train, which couples with another four-carriage unit in the platform to form a 10.30 return service to King's Cross. The two units came into contact.

"A full investigation will be carried out."

Not being a train driver I am fundamentally ignorant of all things involving the movement of trains (if that is what they are for) and shall not pass any comment. I am pleased that the injuries were "minor".

PS. Is anyone aware of a forum which caters for people who are interested in railways, but don't drive trains?

Well I am guessing one train hit another and was not meant to do so with so much force .

As to why ....

I am glad there were no significant injuries. I hope the trains did not hurt themselves too much and will be available to convey people to work as soon as Monday. I hope no staff get into trouble. I also hope that a repeat is preventable or unlikely.

When coupling trains should stop at 6ft, move up, stop 2ft, & then move on to couple. If you do it any other way it's a collision.

Twitter is coming alive now it's been on the BBC news with people claiming to have been on the train and sustained injuries...hoping for compensation I guess. Funny how it's taken until after it's been on the news websites for people to realise they were injured.

Names & addresses should've been taken. The rest of the scummy parasites can just be laughed at.

And the station staff who treated three people for injuries? Did that not happen?

So, we have rail staff here challenging others for guessing as to the cause of the incident.

And rail staff here guessing people are making up injuries to claim compensation.

Pot. Kettle.

Unfounded speculation all round.

It was about 1030(am) and the railway has all the names and addresses of those 'involved' so no 'extras' turing up :)

Exactly. I was referring to the tweets from yesterday evening, so we'll after the event.
