I think you heard wrong then ;) 67014 Oxford Road-Holyhead-Piccadilly. It was a great day out!
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
I'm currently preparing for my birthday in Nottingham today. I'm really hoping that 43060/43082 (both together) are on one of our services! Double winners and I only need 3 EMT powercars!

Thanks! It sounds like 082 and 060 have been split up overnight though. 082 is at Neville Hill all day and 060 is at Cricklewood all day. 045, one that hasn't been out much though and my third winner, should be working the 15:32 out of Notty. Hopefully I can sneak away for that!

Thanks guys! I had to flag it on the 15:32 to St Pancras because we had a movie booked at Royal Centre for 15:50 and there wouldn't be enough time to get out to East Mids Parkway and back to get there in time for the film. In the end we just drove to Clifton and got the tram in. I got 7 NET winners today, which I think is pretty good. It leaves me with 8 to get.

I don't think that you can do either on a travel card unless you get on an East Croydon 442 stopper. I think that the 395s are pretty fancy but I've only ever traveled on one once and that was St Pancras to Stratford and ages ago.

There probably won't be any 442s stopping within the zones tomorrow, therefore the only way to get one is on a full Gatwick Express service.

Cheapest way as you are using a travelcard is to purchase a Boundary Zone 6 - Gatwick Airport ticket, TVMs at Victoria (Southern side) will allow you to buy ticket from other locations which are quite handy

I will try to... Plan is to get a 442 in and see what are the darned fuss is and maybe have a ride on them fancy 395s to prove once and for all they are crap compared to pacers

They're probably the class of train that I ride on the most, and I think they're OK.

Happy birthday and that travel card bash sounds like the report could be interesting :)

Edit: Also, getting a 90 in on a travel card is something of an achievement with the "pick up only" stop - canny move there!

On your travels, did you happen to see a guy in a straw hat and a really loud coloured waist coat? How did you manage the 90?

Damn internet! Had just typed out a fairly long post just to have it deleted!

I quite like the 357s and haven't traveled on them in ages so completely forgotten what the interior looks like!

The 90s were got by pulling off a plus 2 at Liverpool Street from the high numbered platforms (where the dustys usually are) to the low numbered platforms where the 14:30 to Norwich was ready to leave from. The barriers at the low numbered platforms wouldn't accept our tickets so a gateline attendant had to let us through onto the Skoda. Nathan paused after looking at the departure board as it said next stop Chelmsford but this is just because it is pick up only at Stratford. It was a winner for both of us (90004). After a nice bit of Window Hanging to Stratford, we went under the subway to platform 9, where another one was due a couple of minutes later, another winner for both of us, 90008.

HMS - I don't think so, no.

Annoyingly the gateline at Liverpool Street isn't clever enough to work out that passengers might want to exit via the West Anglia side and enter to board a service on the GEML side, i.e. Cambridge Heath - Liverpool Street - Romford.

If writing a big post, write it in word or notepad before copying it over :)

Agreed! That's what I do for my trip reports but didn't think of doing it for this!

I went to Liverpool Street on Saturday... can't say I was that impressed with it - looked as if it could do with a good clean

I'd like to see someone try and push a Pacer up to 140mph...;) Or the effect on the bus doors when a Eurostar passes doing 186mph in the opposite direction.

Liverpool Street should be knocked down and rebuilt as a nice station. Only way to make it better. For Snow Hell, the only way to make it better is to either turn it into a huge costa coffee, knock it down and start again or abandon it and turn it into the next Norton Bridge. For Coventry, you also need to flatten the station and begin again.

EDIT: Did I actually just put that?!

Lets ask Northern... I am sure that they'd be up for it

The Intercity parts were clean, but the local section was ill lit and looked as if it last got a clean in 1987
