Calling all budding scenario makers!

I am proposing the start of a new competition on the forum; the creation of scenarios for Train Simulator 2016. The competition would start on April 1 and will be scored in a fashion similar to the Eurovision Song Contest; dependent on number of entrants, you would score the scenarios, giving (for example) five points to your favourite, four to your second, etc. You obviously cannot vote on your own entry.

You can only submit ONE scenario per monthly cycle, and re-using scenarios you've previously uploaded to ANY website is NOT ALLOWED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Entries must be received by March 31, 2016, meaning ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED.

When posting your interest, please state what routes and trains you own. This will help me decide on the first challenge.

Thanks, and good luck,
DL

Entrants
- Myself
- Iskra
- cactustwirly
- unclefreddy
- superalbs
- heart-of-wessex
- Trainfan344

Last winner: superalbs

NB: This competition is in no way endorsed by the staff of the RailUK forums. It is a small competition purely for fun, and as a result, no prizes will be given.

I'm up for this. I own most British routes and rolling stock in TS2016, the only gaps being Southern EMU's as they don't interest me all that much (I do have 442, 319, 377 and javelin though)

My interest is mainly in the North of England, Scotland or the South West though from the current routes.

Yes, I'd like to enter

I own most modern UK routes, and most German routes (except for the most recent ones)

Stock:
Class 442, 455/9, 170, 319, 66v2 Freigtliner, AP 456, AP321, Waggonz 142, Waggonz 90+DVT, 150, 156.

I'd like to enter too, I have most of the RSC/DTG routes that are UK or German, additionally, Totham, Koblitzer Mountain Route v3, Marsdonshire, Great Western Mainlines and several "freeware" fictional routes from various sources. Rolling stock I have a fairly extensive collection of mostly UK and German "payware" and "freeware" from numerous sources. My intention would be to set the scenario on the Workshop version of Seebergbahn and to use default or Steam acquired assets and UKTS packs. Having said that I'm always happy to try a prototypical scenario on a non-fictional route.
The scenario itself would be an introduction to the New Cornwall Railway Company. A fictional entity that runs former UK and European rolling stock in the liveries of previous operators. Steam traction is regularly used on most of the companies lines.
A blog for the New Cornwall Railway Company and its home are currently a work in progress.

A reminder that entries for the scenario competition close TONIGHT at 23:59.
The theme will be revealed the next day at circa 15:00.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Right then, let us begin this competition proper.

The first theme(s) are Desiro Dreams or Wherry Fun.

You can take that to mean whatever you want, but the train you drive must be a Desiro OR on the AP Wherry Lines..
Post all submission scenarios here as .zip or .rwp files by 20th April 2016.
As an extra, NO UKTS reskins can be used. This is due to the archaic download which severely throttles downloading.
Good luck.

Hi, thank you for the two options and the generous deadline-I'm very busy at the moment! I'm going to use the Desiro theme using one of my favourite routes. I will hopefully start work on it tomorrow. Rather than post the file here, I intend to upload it to the workshop instead and just post a link here if that is okay?

As things stand I too will be looking to link to a workshop submission, change of plan to my original intention but still on a fictional theme. As it it stands requirements will be (All from Steam) Glasgow Airport Rail Link, class 380 that comes with the route, class 170, class 390 and class 66v2 EWS, no reskins have been used. As I don't have Wherry Lines I'm not sure how I'll score any entries on that. An idea, as this is intended to be a monthly competition how about winner decides the next themes?

As mentioned earlier, Steam submissions are fine.

Also, the winner will be able to choose ONE of the two themes. The second theme will be chosen by myself, to cover any possibility of a user not having all DLC required to create a scenario that applies to the theme.
Scenarios you cannot play, for whatever reason, automatically be given two points. Your favourite (playable) scenario will receive three and the other scenario will get a single point.

: 1 point
cactustwirly: 0 point. I really wanted to like this one, but the lack of AI or even a few odd wagons in sidings left me cold. I did like the use of the EROS though. I really wanted to give 1 point, so if it comes to a tie could I request that be taken into account.

FINAL SCORES
1st Place: unclefreddy (4 points)
2nd Place: Me (2 points)
3rd Place: cactustwirly (0 points)
4th Place: Iskra (did not submit scenario)

The next cycle will start either Sunday 1st or Monday 2nd May. See you then!
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
And we're off again - it's the MAY cycle.

This month's themes are What If? and The Long Haul.
You need to make a scenario that see you driving for over 75 minutes OR a scenario where you drive, for example, modern stock on a now-closed route. Any route can be used but it must be an historic route, but with modern, or post closure, traction. If your chosen route is only partially closed, i.e. Riviera Line in the 50's then the scenario should cover at least some of the now closed parts, so for the Riviera that would be going beyond Paignton towards Kingswear as part of a scheduled everyday service.

Entries must be received by 23:00 on Friday, 20th May.

Good luck, and I eagerly await your next scenarios.

I'm afraid I cannot accept already-published scenarios. Unless there is an emergency and you are completely unable to produce a new scenario, I cannot include this as an entry. Sorry.

That's fair enough. Hopefully I'll get a new one submitted tonight.

Sure. Look at Post 21 for this month's themes and deadlines, and the first page for rules and other guffins.

Good luck!

Great, I look forward to seeing what people are creating this round.

Here's a little preview of what I'll be working with this time! :)

Hopefully a long haul what if? will be ok. At present it's 3 hours and forty minutes over the Western Lines of Scotland. Test and polish could take a while...

....So the initial test has gone well, some more polish to add. No cut in the duration although the scenario does have 27 station stops, handy to pause for making a brew or whatever. You are driving a class 170 scotrail unit on a Stranraer Harbour to Newcastle Central service as far as Carlisle calling at all stations on the way. Other requirements to be confirmed, however I will refrain from using reskins.

Class 66v2 EWS and both Freightliner versions, class 08 TOC, class 67 and Settle to Carlisle route, for rolling stock, all added to requirements. All are DTG products. No reskins have been used
