Thanks. I'd always just assumed the police station/Waitrose site was former sidings as it seemed the right shape and position!

Interesting about the loss of Tesco and Safeway when the RBS building went up. Bromley is very poorly served by supermarkets compared to Kingston/Croydon/Sutton etc.

The northernmost part of the car park is where the old goods yard was - it was long and thin (unlike than Beckenham Junction - see upthread!).
The area north of Masons Hill and west of Kentish Way was - according to the only map I can quickly find online - a backstreet area, which accords with my recollections (but I can't remember the detail).
There's simply no room near Bromley town centre for more supermarkets

Lots of little terraced houses. I can almost recollect the name of one of the roads, but it won't quite come. If we'd just missed a 126 bus to get home to Eltham from visiting my grandfather, then we'd have about twenty minutes to hang round the Westmorland Road stop and, being an inquisitive child, I used to wander a bit.

Seaforth & Litherland (Lidl)

Waterloo (Mersey) Iceland to the left and Home Bargain to the right of the upper platform exit :lol:

We've had Stratford International, but normal Stratford is sandwiched between Westfield (Waitrose, M&S Food) and the old Stratford Centre (Sainsbury's, Lidl) is even closer.

Canterbury East: Aldi across the road/roundabout from station road).

Coulsdon Town (ex Smitham): Waitrose opposite the station entrance road. Aldi also on the high street. Train line actually runs behind the Waitrose & over a bridge in front of the store on a curve!

Horley: Waitrose down the bridge & across the road.

St Annes has a Sainsburys (formerly Safeway) built on part of the station site. Conversely, Lytham got a pub!

St Neots – Tesco 2 Mins walk from the ‘Back’ entrance to the Station (Loves Farm)

Doncaster – Sainsburys 2 Mins walk across the road using the Pedestrian Crossing and then left where you’ll reach the shopping centre entrance on your right.

Cardiff Central has an M&S Food and a Spa in the station building.

The Spa at Cardiff Queen Street is on the other side of the road from the station, but less that a minute's walk away.

Newport has two Tesco Metros about five minute's walk away in either direction, but you have to know where you're going to get to them!

Camelon: Home Bargains, Aldi and Tesco.

(Plus ten-pin and indoor bowling; and swimming: it's a whole day out!)

I can't see Tunbridge Wells which has a Morrisons outside on thee list, all the more surprising as Tunbridge Wells West and Tonbridge have been mentioned -or have I inadvertently missed a page? Also Flitwick has a Tesco with an entrance to the car park by the station entrance, I don't remember seeing that mentioned in the thread either although I wasn't looking as I have only just thought of it.

Millom Tesco has the old goods shed as part of the shop and is right beside the station.
Barrow in Furness used to have one of the old low cost supermarkets opposite the entrance on Holker Street but has a Tesco Express about 200metres away on Rawlinson Street.

Twyford has a Waitrose which is a 5 minute walk away from the station.

Reading has an M&S in the station and a Tesco Extra 10 minute walk away (this can be viewed from the train on the approach to the station)

London, Surrey... bit of a blur round here...
Here are some that i can think of.
. . .
London Waterloo - Sainsburys
. . .
There's also a Tesco right next door to Sainsburys at London Waterloo; I reckon they're also about the same distance away from the step exit at Waterloo East as they are to Waterloo Main, so there's another couple for you (maybe the only ones serving two stations?!)

Barnstaple: Tesco, Lidl not too far away either;
Crediton: Also Tesco (Perhaps a bit of a stretch, but if you're counting ASDA at Clapham Junction, maybe not!);
Ewell West: Co-op;

I'm guessing we're not talking London Underground stations as I can think of a few there!

What was Lancaster Green Ayre IS a supermarket............or at least the goods shed is (Sainsbury)
While Morecambe has a Morrisons built on the old carriage sidings.
The original Windermere terminus is a Booths, and from memory didn't Sudbury station move to allow the original building to become a supermarket?

Can't see the Co-op at Whitby mentioned yet?

And Morrisons at Bishop Auckland. (Some interesting photos of the old station on display inside, btw)
