Is it possible to buy a day travel card with a PRIV? Specifically using national rail into London then tubes/buses etc. Thanks
Some ticket offices, particularly Paddington, won't sell tickets with a '+' with Priv discount, despite the ATOC travel guide document explicitly stating it is acceptable. There are a few unpleasant long serving clerks there who seem to begrudge 'us newbies' anything.
GWR needing a kick up the backside - if you want a Marlow to Colchester or Peterborough to Bodmin Parkway Priv ticket there is no reason to refuse the sale if you hold TOCNE Priv card or STC (boxes) !!

you could by one single journey from a national rail station to an underground station, from outside the London area.
for example you could by a return from Basildon to any tube station, lets say Covent Garden for £5.40 priv return, this would of course not be cost affective if you worked for c2c, "U" tickets from inside the London boundary have been withdrawn although are in the system are not to be sold (although some slip through)
otherwise its contactless or Oyster, which isn't a great deal of money
A Basildon - Zone U1234*Londn ticket most definitely should not be sold with a Priv discount to non-safeguarded staff if you follow the national scheme.
Is there a local easement for this in C2C land?
U-zone tickets within the London zonal area definitely have not been withdrawn. They are just structured differently to outboundary ones.
I believe these must be a national easement as i have purchased Crystal Palace to Liverpool Street (U1234*) single for £1.85, Stratford to kings cross for £1.50 from ticket offices And sold Southend east to Waterloo returns more times then I can count for £6.50
As for U tickets from inside the boundary, Could you explain to me in detail as we have been told not to issue any U single returns but to issue travel cards instead when inside the boundary :-/
