Trivia - Stations where a destination is reached by services in both directions

As the title states.

Two obvious ones are Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket, which both have services to Birmingham New Street in both directions run by XC and Virgin via the ECML and WCML.

Other stations I can think of are;

Glenrothes with Thornton
Kirkcaldy
Kingston On Thames

plus others which sit on the same loop lines.

Not sure about any other examples, but I'm sure there are a good few still out there.

Notes
-Said station must have diagrammed services to the destination in each direction
-Stations which sit on a loop line count
-Doesn't just have to be a destination station, can be any along the route as long as they meet the initial criteria.
-Can't be stations which require a train to 'reverse', as they technically head in the same direction of which they came in.

York to Leeds?

Can be reached by:

Heading 'south' out of York and using the direct route via Colton Junction etc.
Heading 'north' out of York via the Harrogate line.

Exeter St David's to London? Trains leave to the North to go to Paddington via the Great Western or to the South to go to Waterloo via the West of England

Chester to Manchester Piccadilly. Arriva Wales services arrive via Warrington and Manchester Oxford Road, whilst Northern services arrive via the mid-Cheshire line and Stockport.

I can think of at least two on the Strathclyde network:

Anniesland to Glasgow Queen St - can be reached either by heading north-east on the Maryhill Line via Cowlairs Junction or south on the North Clyde Line via Partick & Charing Cross.

Motherwell to Rutherglen - can be reached either by heading north via either the Uddingston or Whifflet branches or south via the Hamilton Circle, all of them being on the Argyle Line.

Newcastle to anywhere South can be reached via the High Level or King Edward VII bridge.

Anywhere on the Inner Circle (former Circle Line) in London.

Highbury and Islington and Canonbury on the London Overground.

Leicester southbound (infrequently, mind).

I suspect Birmingham New St itself falls into this category.

Am I right in thinking that there are scheduled services from South Wales which get to New Street from the west and the east?

I think that the former is via University and the latter is via the Birmingham District Line (or whatever it's called!). I also think that the latter might be on Sundays when there's engineering works on the western line, so is it true and does it count?

Does Inverness count? It's a dead-end station which sits on two different lines. Most Edinburgh services leave via the Highland Mainline, but there's one (two?) a day that go via Aberdeen. So they leave the station in the same direction but diverge after 500 yards or so.

First I'll list some groups, then some smaller possibilities of those that I could think of:

Loads of stations in South-East London on the three lines to Dartford to get to London Bridge with the loop routes.
Same goes for a few stations south of Glasgow on the cathcart circle line there.
And all on the Kingston and Hounslow loop lines.
Could I technically throw in loads of the Merseyrail services due to the central loop with the train returning on itself?
Chester has trains arriving from the Llanelli-Swansea-Shrewsbury corridor in 2 directions
Sations near Southampton on the Romsey Loop Service to Romsey
Wimbledon Loop line towards St Albans
HS1 loop stations to Ebbsfleet - Stratford Intl - St Pancras

Weybridge into London Waterloo goes in 2 ways.
Highbury & Islington and Canonbury to Clapham Junction
Springburn and Anniesland to Glasgow Queen Street
Whifflet, Motherwell to Glasgow Central
Newcastle to Carlisle
Blackburn to Manchester Victoria vv
Cardiff Queen Street & Central to Radyr

And in years to come some hope that trains to London will depart from Plymouth in both directions and pass each other at Exeter St. David's in opposite directions!

Eh? Both arrive at Chester from the east. When the Halton curve is reinstated you will be able to get to Liverpool from Chester in both directions.

The many London area examples, while all true, may not be obvious to the casual passenger since (at least in the SWT area) platform timetables and displays only show trains going so far as they are the quickest route.
For example trains from Weybriidge to Waterloo via Staines show at Weybridge as a destination of Barnes - anywhere further it is quicker to take a direct train on the mainline. In the reverse direction departures from Waterloo show Virginia Water as the last point at which it would not be quicker to go via the Weybridge direct train.

Brighton to Southampton and vice versa... via Eastleigh or Swanwick.

That service doesn't leave anywhere in opposite directions in the sense of the OP's question, it just does a different route for a few miles that includes a reversal.

Fareham is a station with two completely separate routes to London that leave in opposite directions.

Just thinking it isn't that long since this was last discussed?

When all the various changes to Northern services happen, Wakefield Kirkgate will have services to Leeds in both directions. The present services via Woodlesford and the future services from Knottingley which will extend to Leeds via the curve up to Westgate.
