Given that its very simple now to create a false photocard - even one with the image actually printed onto a card itself, I am unsure why people are so taken aback about an RPI taking a closer look

There is a flaw in the system though - the Marston Vale line. We have no ticket machines ( thus no pf) and guards often unable to sell. I have been pulled up many a time at Euston for no ticket and had to argue my way out of things

It would be advisable to buy a ticket when changing at Bletchley.

That would, at the time of the main London commuter connection, involve missing the train.

A TVM on platform 5 or 6 would help, though.

As long as it had 'tickets from another station' enabled.

That's where I've had issues too. Apsley station ticket office has (had?) one permanent member of staff, so when they were ill/on holiday it didn't open. The TVM didn't accept cash. The hassle I sometimes got at Euston was really something I could do without. Even getting it in writing from LM that I can board without a ticket if I'm paying cash/voucher didn't massively help.

Barrier staff rather than RPIs, admittedly, but still.

Print this:

and take it with you. Mind you, if you do, just wait for them to accuse you of boarding at Bletchley.

Two points:-

1. If the claim is that person doesn't look like their photo card, surely the RPI should advise the user to update their card.
2. The cards are available to anyone 17 or under, whether they're in full time education or not.

Two regulars nowadays, swapping morning and afternoon shifts.

Always found them helpful and friendly.

Ticket office being closed in the morning is becoming the exception rather than the rule.

Oh, and the station has been getting a lick of paint as well (just in case you're missing it).

Glad to hear it! The woman who worked there was always brilliant, just when I was there if she was poorly or had holiday then it didn't open.
