It also suggests that Wessex will not be registering the 11 or X14 for the Uni new term,

Where does it say that in that link?

Can anyone confirm if Wessex are going to do any University work from September? A cancellation went through for UoB from 22/9/17 and all of 17/18, X14 and 11/A have had cancellations through VOSA. Are we nearing the end of their uni work?

Without Uni work in Bath, Wessex would have a PVR of 7 and in Bristol 23.

Is it by virtue of a lack of notification of them starting, rather than it actually saying it explicitly?

In amongst all the traffic chaos in Bristol tonight it was interesting to see a Plymouth bound Megabus Interdeck heading past the Park & Ride up Scotland Lane. I couldn't work out of it had come round the A4174 to get into Bristol or was heading back out of Bristol
I was going to the A368 that road is wide enough .I have taken a coach down roads where the front passengers were screaming.

They were a lot to be desired! So severnside have quit then?

A master of understatement! I remember their performance on the evening 4s - if they turned up, was some ex local authority welfare minibus! Fares often not being taken either and it was little better on the main 584-7 - terrible episode and one of the worst operators I have ever experienced.

I was thinking of the 20 Sunday service.

It would seem so. The SouthGlos website confirms that the 77 will, under Stagecoach, cover the route of the 615 Thornbury Local and provide a higher frequency of service at the same time so I guess that leaves Severnside Transport with nothing.

It says that Severnside quit the services, which suggests they have just quit.

If you coun't the term time only 680 service then they've been doing local bus work for a few years now.

Over the last year its been mainly worked by a 24 seater merc benz vario with coaches occasionally appearing. I assume that Eurotaxis will have to get some low floor buses for their new services so wonder if they'll be used on the 680 too?

The 623 doesn't operate with a low floor bus so I'd not get your hopes up too much!

I had no idea that STL used a non low floor vehicle on the 623. Do you have any idea what sort of vehicle they normally used. And is there any reason why the 623 is non low floor when the 202 and 626 are low floor?

I do wonder whether their new services will be integrated with school bus services? It would be perfectly feasible for the same vehicle to work the 680 and then either the 202 or 623.

Alternatively,Eurotaxis have a school bus service to Winterbourne International Academy which, last time I saw it was being worked by a minicoach. Wonder if they'll use that on the 202?

They were using some Merc minibus the other week with a wheelchair lift. I guess it fits around other duties at minimal cost for the few pensioners who use it.

Given the spending constraints, if they can tie up schools and tendered work at a decent rate, everyone will be happy

Thanks for your response.

I've actually been on a vehicle like that on one of STL's services before.

Was on the old 200 route from Yate to Frenchay Hospital which preceded the 202.

Going down to Weston tomorrow, with work so will be getting a few busses, change of scenery for me, plan on getting A2, 126, then most likely X1 or X2 (Although in an ideal world the X5!) Or might end up going the other way and getting the 376, depending on bus times.

The 615 bus, a circular route around Thornbury from Monday to Saturday currently run by Severnside Transport Ltd (STL), will come to an end on September 3, as the company goes into insolvency.

STL have confirmed the closure, despite the 615 being part of a South Gloucestershire Council consultation into bus services that closes on the same day.

Went past the Durbin yard earlier and there were a couple of E200s lined up out the front, a Megabus on the M25 doing a driver change and new Stagecoach West/Megabus.com logos out on the front gates.

Another new chapter having sold out to First, then Rotala, partnered with Nat Ex and now Stagecoach. Only Arriva left to go now, although that was rumoured a few years back!

Megabus Cwmbran is being decimated from 4September .The London Bristol route is moving to Bristol .It wont be long before South Gloucestershire becomes a full Stagecoach depot. The Welsh crew have been treated badly in this deal.

Odd they are still employing drivers for Megabus based in Cwmbran.

Not just for Service 77 (Bristol - Westbury-on-Trym - Thornbury) which is the tendered route in question: from the new timetables for a number of other routes I think the following will also be operated from Patchway:

- 60 (Gloucester - Thornbury)
- 62 (Gloucester - Bristol)
- 84, 85 (Yate - Wootton-under-Edge)
- 86 (Yate - Kingswood)
- 622 (Chipping Sodbury - Cribbs Causeway)

Certainly the new TT for the 62 makes this a good probability to be worked from the new Bristol site.

Also the new site will belong to Gloucester which is Stagecoach West (Cheltenham & Gloucester), not Stagecoach South West.

HTIOI,
Dave
