Is that affecting both Arriva's commercial service and MCT's subsidised one?

It's Arriva commercial service that's been cancelled but I'm pretty sure TfGM only decided to divert the 18 contracted service to Altrincham so that it was consistent with the daytime commercial service.

I'm not surprised - the 35 is pretty much a fresh air special with nobody boarding or alghting between Bowdon and Lymm in my experience of it.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Rerouted to cover cuts: 281 Altrincham - Sale. Re-routed via Atlantic Street in both directions to cover loss of 280

I remember hearing of a 746 minibus service that once used Atlantic Street many years ago as far as the last road on the left, where it terminated, which served the people in the new offices there, but I am intruiged as to the exact route of this 281 service from Altrincham to Sale that will use Atlantic Street. What is the full roads coverage of the new route that is to be used?

I'm surprised at the complete withdrawal of this long-established route (formerly 19) that used to run from West Didsbury to Droylsden via Belle Vue. I remember using it in 1969 to travel to Belle Vue zoo using 1 of the (then new) Mancunian buses.

That list that Statto posted isn't quite right. For example

1) The 19 doesn't go to the Trafford Centre (it's Wythenshawe to Altrincham), and there is no 19A
2) The change to the 695 (Leigh to Farnworth) is temporary, caused by the redevelopment of Farnworth bus station
3) The change to the 112 (Piccadilly to Middleton) makes reference to the withdrawal of the 114 (Piccadilly to Alkrington), but there is no other mention of the 114 being withdrawn
4) I'm pretty sure the 41 Altrincham services are subsidised throughout, given that there are some commercial runs as far as Sale in the early evenings after the subsidised service starts

They are from the MEN though, so bound to be errors, they have the V1 running to Tyldesley not Leigh, & can't find the changes on TGFM site.

Remember the M.E.N.s transport reporter goes to TfGM meetings, gets bored after 5 minutes and starts playing on her phone. Notice the absence of the new Selwyns 391/392 (despite mentioning the P1), the Network Warrington changes in the Altrincham area and that the 288 will be re-routed and re-timed so that it interworks with the remaining 88 services and serves Airport City and the Viewing Park (at the weekend.)

Intrigued by First throwing in the towel on the 575 (Bolton-Horwich). They've (and GM Buses before them) fought brutally for the route on several occasions - competing with Blue Bus 1991-2005, thence Arriva after their takeover of Blue Bus. Peak was when the route got to a combined (and, frankly, unsustainable) 14 buses per hour (8 First, 6 Blue Bus) in 2003 to try and grab each others' passengers - although the "equilibrium" always settled to be 4+4.

And Stagecoach have been putting up a fight for Horwich traffic on the 125/6 for 15 years now.

But I've never understood why a greater effort has never been made to have the 575 serve Middlebrook retail park. A potential big source of demand that is basically ignored, but stops just far enough away to not be convenient.

Far enough away to inconvenience the base market of people wanting to get straight to Bolton, though. I must admit, I don't know much about Middlebrook in terms of the shops anyway, but I'm guessing it has plentiful free parking, so it would always be difficult to compete with that.

Been a bus crash in Manchester City Centre.
Up to 15 people were injured in a rush-hour collision between two double-decker buses in Manchester city centre.

Police were called to the crash at the junction of Aytoun Street and Minshull Street at about 07:30 GMT.

Greater Manchester Police said up to 14 people, including both drivers, had minor injuries, while another person had more serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

North West Ambulance Service said two people were taken to hospital.

Updated to include

It looks like one bus crashed in to the back of another in queuing traffic.

A bit presumptive. The hybrid bus looks like it was positioned on or almost on the bus stop opposite Piccadilly Place. The MMC has then hit the back of it - probably at slow speed. The first question might be whether the hybrid had either braked hard on reaching the stop, or whether it had started to pull away from the stop, but had to stop abruptly again.

If buses were queuing to get in to bus stops then it's still queuing traffic.

IF that's the case then technically yes, but having alighted at that stop many, many times, I can think of many reasons why the hybrid might have had to brake sharply, and they don't assume another bus in front. Let's not assume that no other non-pcv (motorised or not!) was at least partly to blame.
