EMERGENCY services have rushed to the north of Glasgow after a bus crash which narrowly avoided hitting a house.
"A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 10.20am, police were called to a report of a road crash involving a bus and a car in Syriam Street, Springburn.
The bus appears to have collided with a fence after the crash. Emergency services are in attendance.”

Any idea what's changing next month in Lanarkshire? Presumably (given the routes changing and the choice of routes for new buses), this is in response to JMB?

240 - not heard what the change is and honestly couldn't guess unless the dupes are being registered to start/stop at Motherwell.
241 **Rumoured to get the streetlites from the 34**
242 will still receive brand new e200mmcs.

242 will still receive brand new e200mmcs.

The 241 is to get the new e200 MMCs 12 of them and is to return to operating every ten minutes the full route.

266 is to run every 12 mins from Shotts and west crindledyke.

240 increased frequency

255 rumoured to be now operating every 20 mins full route

Overtown to receive 10 streetlites currently on the 34

Majority of b10s at Overtown to be withdrawn.

The 241 is getting streetlites only 100%. The 32 e200s will be split between the 242/65/34,34a/

The 241 has also been running a few streetlites for the past few days also which is another tail tale sign to make sure 100% they are suitable for the route in terms of capacity. But again the streetlites are not 100% confirmed as coming to Overtown. yet

The 241 is 100% getting the new buses streetlites appear on the 241 on a regular basis as a needs must. Nothing you post on here comes true anyway

I only post what I have been told by a reliable source. Things may change which results in stuff in mention not materialising.

241 - Vehicles due to replace the B10s off the route. **Streetlites currently being tested during busy periods of the day to monitor capacity** - Inspectors have been onboard a few of these vehicles. YES the 241 does get streetlites from time to time when needs must but these vehicles this week and last are being monitored.
242 - E200s MMCs are 100% confirmed as my source has seen the branding for this route with the supplier of the branding and it's for e200s mmcs not streetlites.

They have also confirmed looking at the branding pictures of the 242 it looks like 10.8m E200mmcs but said that ain't 100% either as its a SketchUp.

Plans have changed the e200 MMC’s will 100% go on the 241 inspectors have been monitoring the service every day since JMB went on the route the 241 will be branded

Regardless of what buses go on what route (we’ll know soon enough), it looks like First are seriously ramping up the competition with JMB. I don’t think JMB are getting anywhere with their 240 in Bellshill, but I noticed the other day that they were doing OK on the back road between Motherwell and Wishaw.

Hopefully First can sort out some of the running times/bunching. 35 min gap on the 240 in the evening peak last week wasn’t a good look.

As ever with First, it’s interesting to what they fight over and what they just walk away from. Presumably Lanarkshire is still making decent money, so worth the effort?

I've read all the Caetano Darts have now left Cornwall and hopefully all reached Glasgow. How many are in service yet though I wonder?

240 is one of First Glasgow’s most profitable routes never mind Lanarkshire’s so First will protect at all costs. Wouldn’t say JMB are getting anymore passengers than normal on the back road as their 240 and 56s are always running together which for a small company is criminal scheduling.
Rumours are that this is just the start of Firsts retaliation. The 41 would be JMBs most profitable route. First are not going to let a small independent come on the road and do nothing about it.

No problem cheers for your info, as said previously I only post what I have been told by someone who is currently employed in an office. The end of the day, its great to see Lanarkshire finally getting new stock that it has deserved.

I would say roughly about 10 are in service between Lanarkshire and Glasgow.

First are in trouble though as the JMB bus has been doing well considering its only been a few weeks. Once people's monthly passes etc start to expire they might decide to jump over to JMB. The 240 has been a joke for years but I think the dupes are really needed between Viewpark and Overtown or eventually split the route like the 266/267 and 254/255

They may be doing well in cleland and coltness but that may change with the 241 going back to a ten minute service as for the other end in bellshill and viewpark the buses I’ve seen have been practically empty First are putting more resources into the 240 from 26th of November so is a case of watching this space there has even been talk of JMB coming off the Motherwell to viewpark section already and has been talk of more first changes in January at the end of the day it’s good to see first retaliating and fighting for their routes. Also good to see investment in Lanarkshire.

Bit of an odd route the 65 to get new buses seeing as it only goes between Bridgeton and Osborne Street during the week, and supported by SPT on a Sunday when it extends out to Halfway.

If anything it would have made sense for them to go on the 64 seeing as it goes all the way out to Carmyle.

It's other way round on 65 , Sunday service terminate s at Bridgeton. The 65 is a pretty long route , quite windy . Only bus service along part of Gorbals too .

Is it ex parkhead that does these route s ?

Ex Parkhead during the week. McGills does the 64/164 on a Sunday. I want to say Caley does the SPT 65 on a Sunday but I could be wrong.

Yeah , i think Blantyre had it for a while too . The 65 used to interworked with 31 on sundays .
Anyone know what the 31s do when they terminate at Osborne St on sunday ? Looks like they go to depot

Ok got it confirmed today that service 242 is still getting brand new e200 mmcs but they won't arrive until early next year.

241 also confirmed with e200 mmcs. **This Year**

Have heard the 14 plate streetlites from Caledonia will now go on the 242 but guess it’s a case of wait and see.

I think you are right as I heard that today also but I am guessing its a temporary measure to get the B10s retired specially as the B10s mostly run on the 241/242 with the odd one on the 266.

Guessing once the new 242 buses arrive early next year then this might see the streetlites moved onto the 266 service

I spotted purple E400MMCs at caley the other day, i assume they are for service 600 operated by FSE

Also, I think the 46 could do with new buses....

Both have been there for a few weeks now I’m sure. There’s also what looks like a B10BLE sitting in front of those buses and it has been for quite some time.

Noticed a few B9TLs on the 46 which is very random. The 46 tends to get all the crap of the day on it. I honestly don’t think that route needs deckers. I think they use Tridents on it because they have nothing else for it. In recent months it’s been operated by B7Ls. I think the 14 plate E200s would be good on that route. No need for huge buses.

The 46, 37 and 64 used to be three of the busiest routes in Glasgow in the sixies
