Lothian definately seem to be making their mark on West Lothian as around half the Midland Bluebrd B7s & B9s have moved to Glasgow in replacement for singles. I reckon one or the other could be out of West lothian anytime soon. What do you all think will happen?

West Lothian isn't Midland bluebird, which part are you on about?

He said Lothian seem to be making there mark on West Lothian and that Half the Midland Bluebird B7 and B9s have moved to Glasgow for singles. Two seperate things. Your not reading properly.

But where's the connection between Lothian "making their mark" on West Lothian and some B7RLEs in a separate area moving. Scotrail158725 is almost saying that the B7RLEs moving is because of Lothian, which is not the case.

There's 0 connection between the B7s moving and Lothian setting up in West Lothian. The Geminis moving is simply just fleet standardisation and adapting to requirements. I don't think either operator will be out anytime soon, unless something major happens.

I should make it clear that the B7s and Geminis moving had been in the talks long before it was known that Lothian plan to expand.

I said two seperate things, as in not connected. Do you want people to make a seperate post for every individual thing, which would result in a topic full of one liner posts?

I'm not an English teacher, but;
... seem to be making their mark on West Lothian as around half the Midland Bluebrd B7s & B9s have moved to Glasgow in replacement for singles ...
the "as" implies that the statement before the connective is backed up by the statement following the connective.

To try and get things back on topic, does anyone know how the Enviro400 XLBs are proving on their testing runs at the moment?

However the post which you were referencing didn't say that. Perhaps you need to read it properly!

"Lothian definately seem to be making their mark on West Lothian as around half the Midland Bluebrd B7s & B9s have moved to Glasgow"

The way this is worded implies that the B7s & B9s moving is a direct result of Lothian's venture, which is not the case.

Yes a neighbour of a friend (not sure that's a great connection but anyway) has been delivering quite a few of them to Newbridge. I'm 90% sure they are going there because Seafield is full

As with regards to them being reregistered to 19 plates. As others have said as long as it has never legally been on the road it is ok for that to happen. 1063 should remain as a 68 plate though as that has seen quite a few trips on the road without its trade plates. I don't think therefore it can become a 19 plate then. The others are now all 19 plates afaik

UNION leaders today warned that a “hostile” management culture at Lothian buses risks leading to strike action. The Unite union claimed the company had been “dismissive” over workers’ concerns about bullying and harassment. It said there had been a breakdown in industrial relations between the company’s management and workforce. And it warned that unless the issues were addressed immediately members could take strike action which would take buses off the street. In December, the Evening News told how a bus driver was sacked and around ten others were suspended for complaining about bosses on a closed Facebook group. It was said to be the latest example of a growing problem of bullying and harassment by management at the council-owned bus company. Industrial action was averted when the company and the union reached a deal on how to tackle concerns – but the union claims management are now ignoring the agreement. Unite regional officer Lyn Turner said: “Unite is keen to work with Lothian buses to avoid a complete breakdown in relations between company management and the workforce, but they must be prepared to enter into genuine and meaningful dialogue. It’s that simple. “Make no bones about it, unless management at Lothian buses take their side of industrial relations seriously, they will have a dispute on their hands. “Clearly signing the agreement last year, was a token gesture by Lothian buses’
management in a bid to avoid a strike. We will not be diverted next time around, should it come to that. “If the company doesn’t address the situation we will move to a consultative ballot on industrial action and that will happen pretty quickly.” A ballot would involve around 1900 workers at all three Lothian garages at Longstone, Seafield and Annandale Street. Mr Turner said he recently had to stop around 30 staff at Annandale Street walking out over management treatment. “We have been trying to keep the lid on this for several months and we were hoping management would see sense and come round the table.” A company spokeswoman said: “Senior management met union representatives last week and we are shocked Unite are not trying to resolve any concerns with us directly and instead feel they can negotiate through the media. Man, 42, killed after being hit by car in Wester Hailes “Our first thought is for our customers who rely on our services every day and in the longer term such actions cannot be good for Unite members and other staff. “Our commercial success in recent years has allowed us to create new jobs and provide a six per cent pay increase over three years from 2016. “The entire country is concerned with the outcome of Brexit and we are certain this is the last thing the people of Edinburgh need. “We would strongly encourage Unite to follow the agreed due process for resolving disputes.”

Residents at Balerno and Currie are petitioning Lothian Buses to have the No25 extended from Riccarton to Balerno.
Good idea but I doubt it will happen.

If I remember the last strike correctly, it was almost a decade ago as I was still a student in Edinburgh , the only service that was run by another operator was the 100, the last strike was a pr disaster but iirc was over pay so was resolved, but this one looks more complicated.

Today's Edinburgh Evening News has a story concerning a driver being sacked for having a mocked up picture of Richard Hall dressed as a medieval jester captioned " Mr Hall enters the boardroom with another bright idea"
