Hey new to this forum , I’ve got my stage 1 assessments next week, any tips for the glop test ?

I wouldn't get worked up about reading the passage. Skim over it and make notes on anything that seems like a list, numbers, colours or in order instructions.

Congrats Kendo, you must be buzzing for it. Where will you be working from upon completing initial training?

I'm in the same position as you, from what I can gather, we shouldn't give up hope, it seems months can pass and out of the blue they get in touch! They are contacting retired drivers trying to get them to return due to major shortages so undoubtedly there is a need! I'm assuming it may also depend on the area you are in and the current need there, just my own view though. Hope you hear soon, its a hell of a wait!!
I hope so I was studying every chance I got I was thinking about applying for the conductor role that also just incase I could get that the re apply for trainee train driver in a year or so if it came up again but I don’t know if that would help any but I suppose it couldn’t hurt be nice to get the chance at it just thought with the eight weeks being up that that was it this time

Found out yesterday I have passed the 2nd assessment and have moved onto the medical stage. Fingers crossed and all being well, should hopefully be a formality and due to start on the 22nd April also.

Thanks again for all that have taken the time to help me throughout the process and I wish to extend that to anyone who is currently going through the process to drop me a message and I will help anyway I can.

Cheers and good luck to all

Thanks a lot,

If you have a scim back through this thread, there is loads of different information with regards to what is involved.

Make sure you read through the booklet that they send you as it is exactly what you will be doing on the day ( from intro to computer tests until the end)

In nutshell its 3 computer based tests followed by the MMI, proceeded by SJE. Relax, stay focused and remember to breathe! lol

Hi mate
I’ve got a date for my DMI in a couple of weeks , if you could give me some pointers it would be really appreciated
Thanks

Also in the same boat and would appreciate any feedback/helpful info.
Try reading through this thread, everything you want to know has already been posted. Good luck trying to become drivers if you’re incapable of doing even the most basic level of research for yourselves...

If anyone would like any info or advice feel free to drop me a mail. I've recently completed the process and got alot of help from others on the forums. I'm no expert, if i can do anything to help with the process I will.

Cheers Kendo

Don’t assume to know the level of effort I or anyone else puts in or my personal circumstances. I (and probably others) have read the forum thread, there’s a lot of information I don’t think it hurts to ask someone who has recently been through the process their take on it as you can pick up different useful information from different people. I myself work in what would be considered a niche and professional industry at the moment and I am always happy to pass on my knowledge without bitterness. So maybe wind your neck in and don’t post your condescending comments.

Well, the assessment material I got made out all assessments were to be done on the same day hence my question. All we did today were a few written tests. Nothing about a MMI which I prepared extensively for. No computer based tests which as per the materials received I also practiced for. Honestly, maybe you should take your mother's advice. If you haven't got anything nice to say say nothing.

No, 2 assessment days. If you pass stage 1, then you have a Driver Manager Interview, if you pass that then you do a stage 2 assessment day which is computer tests which, if you pass them in the morning, you do a MMI in the afternoon.

To be fair, only 3 pages back was my reply to another query regarding how the process works. There is also a plethora of info on this thread on how the Scotrail recruitment process works.
