plaxton interdeck 40mpg on motorway :D:D your lucky if a ford transit mini bus will do 40mpg on motorway.

I did state "allegedly" in my original comment... It was a Megabus driver who stated that, i couldn't comment on the accuracy of the statement.

Should first glasgow go head to head with stagecoach x19 as its very busy and just increased there timetable city centre to hospital or is there a agreement in place not to compete.

Isn’t that how the whole Magic Bus came about in Glasgow because one started competing with the other? First competing in Ayrshire and Stagecoach competing with the 162, 175 and the X19 (the only route to have stayed). Not sure what the script was in Ayrshire but The Magic Buses were chockers. 50p into town can’t argue with that!!! Must have stole a lot of business for First.

Perhaps after that they decided not to intrude on each other’s territory.

Have been told the new deckers should start arriving by the end of next week not this week. 77s should be the first to arrive.

all the info I have at the moment.

Will keep my eyes peeled if they are going to Caley

Which buses have green poles? The last ones I can remember were the VOs new to KCB which ran mainly out of Cumbernauld and were withdrawn around 10 years ago.

Also good to see routes receive new buses which haven't had them for many years like the 18 and 38.

If the 77 is getting new double decks from being single deck operated then that suggests it's been a success since it replaced the 747.

Good see the route going to deckers . Too many of them E300s came in.

P.S, I said this before and I’d say it again, check the stains lefts behind on the lower deck roof where they foolishly put stickers(on B9’s), theyve not bothered there shirt here, the unrefurbed plastic on the chiller unit on the upper deck also has horrible, unclean looking stains from years ago.
My guess that when a passenger boards these initially they’ll think “Oh”, until there eyes wander...

ALL 300’s have abysmally filthy floors! these could've been replaced on The One and 2 sent for refurbishment to a high standard and cascaded to Lanarkshire whilst potentially being able to take a large portion of the Euro3 buses off the road for city centre ops.

Don’t get me wrong I understand the general enthusiasts like them alot but honestly, good riddance to the B10’s, wasnt a good look for the company in the eyes of the public, its just a pitty the caetano darts dont spontaneously combust as well, after all as ive said before, a bus should be run for the good of the public not a private business purse, alot of the operation cuts corner right down to every bolt(a dig at there engineers for dodgy suspension inspections to be clear).

I’ve also recently been reading that Xplore have retrofitted 2006 B7s for E6 emissions, if xplore can retofit these I see no reason why FiGs 2006 B7s couldn't be retrofitted and operated for years to come instead of battling with new bus orders, of course First are apparently reluctant to bid for funding in scotland for retrofit?

The timber effect floors are often quite sticky or seem to absorb liquids . Noticed some of the refurbished B9TLs are quite noisy .

I’m pleasantly surprised they’re upgrading the 77 but it’s a good investment. It’s good to see that the hospital buses are doing well. The 34/34A and 77 seem to do well they’re always busy when I see them at the QEUH. Wonder what they’re planning to do with the current buses on the 77. Perhaps the 9/9A? I’m sure B9TLs were specifically brought over from Caley for the 77 peak workings. I wonder if they’ll go for refurb now too?

The 77 has been a real success story. Obviously the hospital is a big part of it, but it gets very busy at city end too. The bus station - West End link didn’t really exist before (the old 747 wasn’t frequent enough). With Glasgow Uni starting to move into the old Western Infirmary site from next year, Dumbarton Rd services are going to get busier, so extra capacity is good.

Think the old hospital is for more teaching space. However there are many new student blocks around the Partick station area. At last count around 6.

I can remember the old 747 being a B7TL and being absolutely full to the brim, people standing upstairs etc. It was a really busy route anyway don’t know why it took for the QEUH to open for them to realise it needed its frequency upped?

Probably an unpopular opinion but the 34/34A is my favourite on the singles.
Also a great colour my friend. Hoping they rebrand the 240s and express deckers soon into the new livery but highly doubt it. Express services Gold needs replaced

I really like the orange on the 254s they look really striking. I also like the express gold but wish they’d did it differently they seem to have only did some of it instead of the full coloured front. The B7RLEs, the express E400MMCs and the 240 E200MMCs are still in Olympia so perhaps it’ll look better once they’ve been fully relivered but I’d imagine they’ll be the end of the pile for now.

Looking good . 18 my fav and the 75 my least . One thing about Dumbarton Road is the traffic through Partick . More deckers for that corridor is good . 2 needs them

Was it half hourly ? Used to run to Partick bus station only .
