Yes it's a business. It makes good money, not sure if the younger family will take it on as natural wastage occurs, as a Preserved line the Trainspotter has to go to the Fairburns, which keeps them dribbling in. But it can't go South, due to road and loss of bridges I think. But it's a great tourist line, the most scenic, and a Steamboat at the end. They will tell you when the Fairburns are chuffing and are all very friendly Lakes peoples. Interesting sheds and old narrow gauge relics from the local gunpowder trade. Well worth a visit! Just hope they let the CoBo visit in 30 years when its finished.
