That's sensible enough as this is a free "reward" for long-suffering commuters: what proportion of one's free ticket would one expect to be repaid?
None to be honest.

Interesting...I asked and they said I could https://ibb.co/GtnRnWgCheck out @ScotRail’s Tweet: https://twitter.com/ScotRail/status/1108821794079891457?s=09

i personally expect lots off "discussion" on trains as to validity but as i say i hope it goes well and smooth for you

I only had one guard that had a vague issue with it, that was on a train from Dundee to Edinburgh, and he accepted that he was in the wrong when shown the website - he thought that there was meant to be a code to go with itGreat journey, did you have any issues with guards/gateline staff?

I'm quite surprised that the barrier staff at GLQ didn't know about the offer when you went through - the one who let me through asked me how far I was planning on going.I received my smartcard on Sat morning and uploaded it with a £10.80 1st class season. I did a small return journey from Glasgow to Dundee to test it out.
Card didn't work at any of the barriers. The Queen Street staff didn't seem to know anything about the offer but let us through anyway. No onboard ticket check on the way out. Dundee barrier staff let us through fine. On the way back ticket examiner was absolutely fine, though he wasn't able to read the card. He put it down to his reader but I suspect it may have been because my card was so new.
I came prepared with a printout of the deal and written confirmation from Scotrail that first class is valid, though in the end I didn't need to show anyone the printout.
We were the only ones in first class. Trains were much quieter than I had expected. I didn't see anybody else using the offer onboard or at the barriers. I suspect very few know about the offer and anyone who normally uses season tickets is probably not wanting to spend any more of their week on a train.
I may try and go further next time now I know it works.
Tbh both times I 'picked' a young looking female barrier staff member thinking they'd be less hassle! They let us through fine but appeared not to know what I was on about. Looking at Twitter a few others have had issues at GLQ. Scotrail responded to them saying they will make sure that all staff are aware of the offer. I'm sure the situation will be better next weekend.I'm quite surprised that the barrier staff at GLQ didn't know about the offer when you went through - the one who let me through asked me how far I was planning on going.
From what I've seen these are the cheapest weekly seasons available, but there are probably more:
Golf Street <-> Carnoustie
Golf Street <-> Barry Links
Balmossie <-> Monifieth
Greenfaulds <-> Cumbernauld
I felt more comfortable buying one that I could actually go to the appropriate station and buy (Cumbernauld is included in my bus ticket). Next time, I'm planning on going for Golf St - Barry Links for the purpose of going first class.Dunfermline Town <-> Dunfermline Queen Margaret is another I've seen mentioned as a cheap season which qualifies. Although I'm tempted with a Golf Street - Barry Links one to boost the passenger numbers.
Yes. Fort William this morning is stunning. Cool, but sunshine and hardly any wind. Shame I have to head home to Dundee.Reading the link provided and the above posts, all I need is a valid season ticket on the qualifying routes and I'm good to go?
It's on the Edinburgh to Aberdeen route so I can't see any reason why not.I'm needing to buy a Dalmeny - Edinburgh gateway ticket next week for work anyway. I presume this would work for a Saturday/Sunday expedition with a companion?
