The wheels need a bit of work I don’t think that’s any great secret. They stick out like a sore thumb against fresh nicely painted buses.

I’m not a huge fan of the new livery at all. I find it so bland. Particularly Glasgow’s. The light lilac is pretty awful. It works ok on the Wright stock (like the B7RLEs and Gemini’s) but the ADL stock does not suit the new livery at all... the purple at the front looks ridiculous. They should have kept some pink in there in my opinion. I think the branded E200MMCs that are on the 2 just now (which nobody seems to know where they’re going) display what probably could have worked as the new First livery. The pink front and purple at the back.

I get there are moans and groans about First up to their old tricks over the years but there’s no denying that they are trying. A lot of new stock has arrived in a very short time. I anticipate there will be so much more between now and 2022 to comply with LEZ and just generally upgrade the fleet. Routes like the 60/60A are screaming out for new buses while the 2 could be doing with deckers. I think they could be doing with ordering new E200MMCs for the 2 and using the current stock to oust the remaining B7Ls and B10BLEs thus also upgrading the 2 which is one of the busiest routes on the network.

Reckon the B7Ls are next to go , then the 02, 03 plate scanias , alx 400s , 03 plate deckers at Scotstoun then the B7TLs.

Noticed on passing Caledonia today that there’s an all blue painted trident sitting around. Anyone know what this is for?

There’s also another silver E400 which doesn’t look native but couldn’t properly see.

A lot of the 75 branded E400MMCs off the road this week. Noticed a good few around the depot. Counted at least 5.

The E400 is on loan from
ADL covering for buses that are undergoing warranty repairs. There is also a stagecoach open top bus in Caledonia. 75 is running a reduced service for school holidays so the buses you have seen are not required due to reduced PVR.

I think the company has improved over the years and bus travel in general.

That section of Argyle Street became 1-way around 20 years ago. St Enoch Square bus stances closed at the same time.

That was filmed just prior to the Firstgroup takeover. Soon after Strathclyde's Buses and KCB Network became First Glasgow.
The top video must just be after the takeover, there are welcome to first stickers on the window next to the entrance door and first stickers in the back windows. but prior to the rebrand.

Does anyone know if anymore B9TLs are to be refurbished including the ex-FSE 57 plate examples.

Also what happened to the E300s and B9TLs that we’re on the 77? I noticed more B7TLs and B9TLs turning up on the 3 as of recent. Also saw an E300 on the 9. Thought this would have been a good move for them to upgrade the 9 a little.

Some good photos of the interior of the new Airport 500 Enviro 400 City's

These buses looking cracking inside! I honestly think First should consider having this as their main interior on all of their buses. The flooring looks good and they grey grab poles look very stylish. Not a fan of the seats but the E400City looks like a lovely bus. It would be nice for them to go with them again to give some variety. They look low height too does anyone know?

They look genuinely stunning. If anything, possibly a better spec than Lothian’s 100 which has always been the gold standard for airport runs. Are the grey poles legal though? I thought they were supposed to be brightly coloured & different from the luggage racks etc. If they have to change then the same shade of pink as the outside would probably look good

GCT were set up to run Strathclyde's Buses least profitable services and PTE subsidised services.

The 100 was the SECC service. They also took over the 19 Easterhouse to Castlemilk from Magic Bus when they closed down.

Well spotted. I didn't notice that. The large fleet of Atlanteans were soon to be replaced at that time.

Yes they are, the colours used on the poles and step edges just have to clearly stand out clearly from the rest of the interior.

Minus the seats, Luggage rack & TV screens the Interior is near identical to First Aberdeen's Enviro200MMCs.

That's the 77 and now the 500 going double deck. First Glasgow must be doing something right by increasing the capacity of these routes,

2 of the 77 E300s are at Blantyre now in 201 Livery. Few now at Caley aswell.

What’s the purpose of having these moved to Blantyre, Caley and Dumbarton? Are they short of buses or is this to retire off some more of the B10BLEs and B7Ls?

I think it would have been nice to see the 9 upgraded as it’s quite shabby nowadays. They could have rebranded them in the pink style and moved the B7RLEs to Caledonia.

There must be logic to it though. There’s still been a lot of B10BLEs on routes like the 255 and 263 so perhaps the ex-77 E300s will be taking over now.

The 9 will probably get new buses soon as the B7RLEs will be gone by the time the LEZ fully kicks in.

The pinky/purple e200mmcs that are on the 2 mostly shouldn't have been painted but has been rumoured next batch of singles will be going to the 9/9a along with these vehicles and the 9a vehicles will be used to retire the remaining b10s & toiletboxes.

talk of more new vehicles coming later this year.

Theres going to be a fairly big reduction in vehicles required for the 34/34a come may with the route change and that's the reason it never got a complete new fleet as if it did some of those bus would need rebranded come may

Also a vast reduction in scheduled depot runs coming in and a little bit of change on the 87 and 57 swapping ends and 57 going back to aviva
