The alternate rumour I heard was that they're going to be stored there, but I personally think the maintenance story is more plausible.
Given how short LNER are of power, and that unless Eversholt agree otherwise they will have to be returned in operational order, maintenance is more likely. I doubt Wabtec would be happy to store them there given the number of vehicles they already have on site. I would add in that LNER will want to off-hire the DB Class 90s first.

91120 is now back in service.
91101 (works - exam?), 91103 (wheelsets), 91104 (exam?), 91115 (works - exam?), 91116 (fire damage), 91126 (transformer oil failure), 91131 & 91132 are the 91s currently off the ECML.

Further speculation with the ex-Anglia 90s has taken place over at WNXX towers, with 90001/002 planned to go to LSL (Locomotive Services) and 90003-015 planned to go to Freightliner.
(My suspicion is that 003-015 will end up hired in for the GNWR diagrams if they ever begin; I still hope for 91s on those diagrams!)

There appears to be some MK4 coaches at Doncaster works currently, any idea which set it is?

From Richard Clinnick on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Clinnick1/status/1131216546485948416?s=19

3 IC225s (30 Mk4 vehicles i.e. 3 10-coach sets, inc. DVT) are due to go off-lease by the end of June.
Another 4 sets gone end of August.

My thoughts are that the 90s will be the first to go, with an 800/1 taking over the Newark NG run, and *possibly* extending to Lincoln Central throughout the day.

The first three sets to go will be the three going to TfW, and with no locos to transfer it would make sense to ditch the 90s and retain the 91s. Are the second lot of four sets the ones for the Euston-Blackpool open access job?

Transport for Wales are only getting 12 Mk4 coaches to form 3 4-car rakes, not full-length ones, with the 3 Mk4 Driving Van Trailers. The sets will be adapted to work with the 67s

I’m well aware of what TfW are having.

The point is that Eversholt need three full sets back from LNER to provide the TfW vehicles: there’s only one TOE, TOD, SV and DVT per set and they are needed for the Welsh sets.

That'd be my guess - although there really isn't much in the way of communication from Alliance Rail stating the traction in use at the country end.

Stupid question time. For some reason I had it my head that LNER were to keep on [I think] 9 225 sets. Is this now not the case and they will not retain any sets long term (again I say now but this may have been known for quite some time!) If so that is a shame as enjoy watching the 91's from work though makes sense operationally.

Yes all the 91s are going, LNER are getting more than enough IETs, and the 91s are completely knackered anyway

As one returns, some more go.
91103 is back up and running (and has now gone to Wabtec at Doncaster), but Mk4 rake BN23 has *allegedly* now gone off-lease. The rumour mill is saying that the sets are bound for mods at Worksop in order to work in push-pull with the system fitted to DB's Class 67s.

Hopefully any sets that need to be stored for a long period of time will be sent somewhere down south ;), Eastleigh springs to mind, but out of curiosity are there any places that could be used to store MK4's on the Southern network at all? MK4's have visited the Southern network before however as I recently saw a picture of 91023 (now 91132) at Streatham Hill for an open day when it was new with an MK4 rake.

Apparently WNXX is stating that the set has been debranded. Any idea when its due to depart BN?

No idea when it's due to depart Bounds Green; I've got my suspicions as to which way it'll run though - just straight up the ECML to Retford, down Whisker Hill Jct and onwards to Worksop.

For these initial 7 sets, I suspect one will go off-lease every 2 weeks - this should lead to TfW having their 3 sets alloxed by the end of June, with the GNWR 4 being ready at the end of August.

For now. They aren't (as yet) getting any more new stock so won't be able to implement the full timetable upgrades Virgin East Coast had planned (for which they needed to retain a few IC225s alongside the new fleet). Personally I hope they won't get more new stock and will bring the best of the 91s back on lease if and when the full timetable upgrade goes ahead.

You had me excited for a minute there 'A&PS' I thought might stand for Appreciation and Preservation Society. I look at the 125 group and think there must be a 225 group I could join. But no, I've still not found one...

The group you're looking for is the "Class 91 Appreciation&Photography Society" - bit of an inflated title for a photo group for 225s!

Definitely not 115, 116 and 132. 115 is in Doncaster Works for an exam, 116 in Bounds Green awaiting repairs, 132 stopped for wheelset exam.
106 is also in Doncaster Works. I believe that now 103 is returning to service, the rest are all operational.
