We do this to "spoil" the livery so other operators dont feel the need to use our livery.
Ah ok, cheers. Always just wondered when i see photos of them with it, Doesnt seem to be working well though because most at their new companies still have the old livery

Have it on good authority these are the main changes happening:

1 extended to Leith Links
15 (all journeys as X15) Lochend section removed. Monday - Friday only service
21 some daytime journeys to terminate Lochend. Sunday’s no journeys go to Gyle Centre
30 route change in Stoneybank
33 terminate Sherifhall route change in Clovenstone
48 every 20 mins daytimes, 30 mins evenings and Sundays

ECB X5 and X7 extra peak journeys

No other drastic changes other than timetable alterations.

Well looks like you were right!! https://www.lothianbuses.com/news/2019/06/lothian-service-change-14-july-2019/

Doesn’t say anything about 21 journeys being cut to Lochend though and no mention of the N43

49 is changing to deckers Monday to Friday, single deck Saturday and Sunday.
48 will be single deck.
Sunday 41s are going back to single deck again.
21 will be entirely deckers.
Interested to see how that goes with making the 41 singles on Sundays again. It should work because its normally not very busy on Sundays outwith the festival. If the 49 is finally going back to deckers then that would be brilliant. They said the 21 would be just deckers last year and it never happened.

Well contrary to what Facebook is saying I think the introduction of the 48 and shortening of the 33 is a good move.
It was just a few weeks/months ago we were talking about how a direct bus from Midlothian to the Fort was needed. The 33 is also too long a route so was needing shortened anyway. Very few people go all the way into town on it.

I agree the changes are good, Every part of the 33 route has direct even after these changes expect for Aaron Lodge Guest house hotel, but if there really are any passengers, can't they change?
Nice to see the 31 have been converted to the Tri deckers. When will the service be fully operated by them ? So that 7, 16, and 31s Whats next?

The 7 doesn't appear to be getting them on weekdays anymore. As more new buses arrive this may change. 17 of the 19 buses out on the 31 today at lunchtime were the new buses.

The 44 would be a good shout but highly unlikely as most of the service comes from Longstone.

Is any more XLB getting order for next year? Where are the old Airlink deckers going to? Better still where are the old Skylink deckers going?

I suggest you reread what I said. If old Airlink stock goes on to the Skylink stock then there will be surplus of Sky link stock.
Oh yes sorry I didn't read it right through. My bad. I would say that the old Airlinks would most likely go straight into the main fleet, but if not then the ex Skylinks would most likely replace the remaining B7TLs on a route like the 3, 33 or 44.
