Not a secret, you just dont need to know.

Good grief.....is it a crime to ask a simple question and get a simple answer.? I remember a time when bus enthusiasts would share information on these types of things but now it's gone to hell with everything being on a need to know only basis. It's responses like yours that give enthusiasts a bad name.

So in short it is a secret then. If it wasn't a secret we'd know!

It's the typical response you'd expect to receive from the Lothian bridgade these days. It's either a secret or they only share it with a select few. It's just giving enthusiasts who actually care about the hobby a bad name and/or pissing them off to the point where they lose interest.

I hate to pick on others, but sadly i can't disagree with you. "Lothian Enthusiasts" are some of the worst for this sort of thing. Far too many of them (not naming anyone in particular) think they're above everyone else. Some of the posts i see elsewhere by said people do make me laugh sometimes!

Has 551 gone to LCB and Livi depot perminantly? It's been running LCB for about 3 months now.

To be honest, I don't see why there has to be any anamocity in this. We all have a passion for something in life, be it buses, trains, planes, or even stamps but it can become a little disheartening when some people act in a certain way. I know I sometimes feel that way and although it might be due to being autistic (aspergers), but I find the secrecy behind some questions and answers to be strange at best and not really in keeping with what we are all doing. We all have some like of buses, some work for the company, some have a huge indepth knowoldge but don't work there and othere just like to know what is going on outside of the regular service changes ie new fleet, retired fleet etc... Can't we all get on and just be friends? It makes life easier that way and since we are all in the same boat, if we all row in the same direction, it would help in the end. I understnad however when some things are secret, it's because it is a company rule and I would not want anyone to get in trouble or worse with the bosses. :)

heres the link of the sold on tridents, only had it since about august 2018 so only the Scanias, East Coast Tridents and lothian tridents form 628 up are on it as it would be hard to find stuff sold on from 4+ years ago. Some still arent found so if any of you know where the ones ive not got down are that would be great

This may be of help, I don't guarantee 100% accuracy but it is to the best of my knowledge. Any updates or corrections would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you both for those. It's nice to see where the older fleet has gone to.

Will I see the 31s are getting cut because of the bigger buses. Its MADNESS the 26 being cut on a Sunday the buses are all full half the time.
I know the 26 is ran from Marine, but I am suprised they have not put some B8Ls at Marine for the 26. I assume the next batch will be heading in a 50/50 split between Longstone and Marine. I wonder if they will run the 26 on Sundays from Central instead and use the B8L due to that?

How do i give enthusiasts a bad name? I only said that omnicity999 doesnt need to give out the information because its not something that enthusiasts need to know. Id like to know but im not going to make a big fuss if someone wont or in this case cant tell me

Sometimes people will ask questions here so i answer them as far as i can.

Anything i'm not allowed to post - i don't.

I'm not going to post anything i've been told specifically not to post for enthusiasts, anything i post has been approved. If my line manager asks me not to do something then i don't - simple as that.

If you're really petty enough to want to know what buses have water damage, go up to Longstone and look through the open shutters onto the pits, theres four in there and six at Seafield. It's public knowledge but i've been asked not to talk about it. Anything parked within Seafield works with X48 Nightbus Tranent on the screens is withdrawn indefinitely, this is the code used by the gateman at Seafield. If its a digital screen theres no indication unless it has yellow paint on it.

So it is. Yet more 124 improvements whilst the 113 gets nothing :p

I know it’s baffling! Not even a minor change is what baffles me at least, had it not been for the LB pdf I wouldn’t of known about the 10 changes in detail or the 26, would of thought ECB would of had one in the same fashion.

I filled out that survey earlier, I imagine most of the feedback questions are no doubt Ridacard related! Because mine certainly was

Yeah i know about the not posting what you cant i have someone from scotrail who does the same, if im ever looking for buses out of service i look at Seafield Works or at the engineering bit at Marine or Longstone instead of asking online where i know people cant say.

My work meanwhile is quite different, they are very pro personal social media as it helps very well with our customers and promotes us as a business. We aren't restricted by a great deal to what we can/can't share, I tend go on the side of caution as it's just my way of doing things and I'm not a massive user of social media. I know loads of people within the company that will happily share things/answer questions though.

Everywhere does things differently and I think there's still a small minority of people that need to maybe think before they ask and respect a company's policy on that issue, they are ultimately there for a reason

Aaaahhh, I knew I’d forgotten something blatantly obvious to feedback. I only put in my complaints about the 113. :{

Does anyone know where the 124s will terminate in Wallyford? I thought they would go up the A199 and then round the roundabout before Strawberry Corner and then go the usual route round Wallyford. However, none of these stops seem like sensible terminus points.

It'll terminate at the park and choose. Rather than coming in at the southbound stop from Edinburgh, it'll come in at the northbound stop then leave from there back into town.

So will it go round the usual route as if it was coming from North Berwick, or will it turn right at the road before it usually does and then immediately left?

From what I understand it will, when coming from edinburgh, turn right up the loan then left into the park and ride. It will then take its layover there at the northbound stop before proceeding out towards Edinburgh by turning left again onto the A199 and away. (I think this is the second of your two suggestions?)

I will imagine they will use singles for the Wallyford runs? :D

Overall these changes are definitely hit or miss! Definitely positive for the east Coast Buses (except for no improvement on the 113) and the Skylinks improvements are always a welcome touch especially on the 400 ! A route I would never see get a service after midnight!

The 1 changes are good, 21 is a little disappointing, especially for Sunday’s since they could just have it running every 15 minutes throughout the entire route instead of cutting the gyle journeys because of the Easter Road roundabout.

Gorebridge residents may be disappointed that they may have to get a dayticket for their journeys but Lothian did that with Ratho 5 years ago and it won’t be the last time I imagine! Besides the 48 working with the improved 400 must be handy for Greendykes residents! Though if they were improving the 400 anyway with later journeys why not run the 48 over Milligan Drive via the Wisp?

The 10 evening changes is a nice touch for Bonaly residents and of course the X15 is causing controversy amongst Facebook! If this second run of an all day X15 works better than the last time I will eat my hat but I suppose they will do what they can to try attract more passengers!

I’m honestly surprised the N43 doesn’t have a return journey, but this one journey a night seems like a bold step for LCB (Or Lothian) since the 43 changes were more or less advertised with the city services.

The 26 still baffles me! I imagine the residents of Port Seton are going to be disappointing when they realise that but it’s better than nothing! and if the new Sunday 124 proves to be popular then i’ll be darned! I imagine it’s because most of the passengers are Ridacard users that could just be using a 26 anyway but prefer the comfy ECB seats  I know I would!!

That’s probably the most reasonable review I’ve seen of the service changes :)

Aye, that review of the service changes was a pleasant read, and I pretty much agree with TheEastCoaster
My only grumble with the changes is the afternoon peak 300 being knocked back to every 25 mins (if bustimes.org is to be believed) every 15 minutes would have made more sense as quite often people are swinging off the rafters of peak 300's (especially with the horrid 4xx number series buses)

That if true is a backwords step for LB to have the 300 every 25 minutes. Usually though they have it every 10, 15, 30, etc as they can say past the hour and to the hour, but every 25 minutes means they can't do that. Still, I'd have expected every 15 minutes for that service. It's usually been busy when I have used it myself.

Thanks, I did not look at BT.org but I thought they were every 25 minutes full stop. It's even more baffling why they'd pick peak times to go to 25 min when it's even busier.

And what gives you the right to decide who needs to know what? That statement alone just proves my point. We don't all have time to travel over to Edinburgh on a daily basis to see what buses are off the road etc, hence why people ask these types of questions.
