So he says but I’ve been told it’s still the same units as earlier. That’s from 2 sources both like me work for WMTCheck post 24 seems they split them later on

Ok, thanks. I did think it was weird for a 153 to be on a Shrewsbury service!
New St sign Shrewsbury. It maybe that at least some Shrewsbury/Wolverhampton men still sign them but they have had no booked work since May, so many will have or will be taking them off their traction cards.Think the limit is 12 months.A pair worked up there on August 1st but it does seem to be extremely unusual now. Presumably other depots still had them on their traction card from before the work changes.
Probably seen you there then. I don’t train spot, just drive the things. Will confirm what worked the 15:50 ex New St (16:40 at the Link) when i drop my lad down to get the train to Hfd. The driver on that train would have relieved the 17:39 ex Hfd (back working of the 15:50) at Worcs Fst at 18:24.on Wednesday when I go trainspotting at Malvern Link (Usually 1535 - 1800 for anyone wishing to spot with me). I will have a look what's working what especially the 1640 at Malvern Link.
Will see if it's at Worcester in the morninganyone know when 170506 is next coming down HFD way?
might be a bit cheeky to ask but if you see a young looking lad with blonde hair and a camera at MVL on Wednesday could you do the horn a few/ many times? thanks...Probably seen you there then. Sorry just noting a rare occurrence in an area where the 153s are will keep it on task now unless further comment is raisedWhat has this to do with 153s ?
That's strange, cos 310 is coupled to 326 and 170511 on the Snow Hill diagram today.Just saw 310 coupled to 365 on the 1640 @ Malvern link heading for Hereford

No. Data downloadsok thanks. by downloads does that mean the in cab forward facing camera that is on 170s/172s?
Yes. That’s what i drive 153,170 & 172. Small cab is ok & actually better when it’s warm. Sets originally built as class 155 & then modified, hence the small cab the one end to fit onto the chassis. Didn’t like 155’s when i learnt them 30 odd years ago & don’t like 153’s now.View attachment 70371 View attachment 70372
ever driven one of these? dogboxes have a really small cab in the B end, bet that's fun in the summer temperatures...
Ah yes... I’ve heard the reports of how poor that unit is...EMR have 156503 on hire from Scotrail to cover. Has been well documented.
326 was working with 170634 on SaturdayAh yes... I’ve heard the reports of how poor that unit is...
I spotted one of the 153’s attached to a 172 at New Street on Saturday morning.
Ah fair enough...I didn't pay too much attention to it in the gloom at New Street on Saturday morning.326 was working with 170634 on Saturday
the small cabs do have more legroom / footroom as well...?View attachment 70371 View attachment 70372

I wasn't aware Hereford was served from Barnes.153326 was paired with 172001 on the 1250 BNS - Hereford today
Interesting that the 172 retains the compatibility with Sprinters that the 170 has - the 172 going through the gears up to say 4th gear while pulling away while the 153 is still in "1st" must be an interesting combination of sounds!153326 was paired with 172001 on the 1250 BNS - Hereford today
fair pointI didn't really notice as it was already at line speed going through Longbridge
