TPE Liverpool to Glasgow direct: did any trains make it through?

Seen one yesterday at Central , was only going to Preston.
Id be interested in the loadings of these compared to the Manchester TPEs.
Are these all 185s?
Well the loadings aren't going to be great if, after decades of lobbying and years of preparation and delay, the rail industry proves itself completely incapable of delivery.

Two southbounds were cancelled throughout today, and the other 4 legs did Glasgow-Preston or vv only.
Connections at Preston to/from Liverpool are pretty poor if you have to travel on the truncated services.
Not so bad if you can choose another operator.

Not seen any marketing about the service.
There was a launch offer of £10 Advances (which seemed to sell out very quickly) advertised on TPE's website, Twitter and probably other social media.
I would speculate that with TPE's problems this week, any further marketing may have been cancelled/postponed.
Still being advertised on home page. Clueless TOC

I thought I might have seen some posters on Merseyrail station, maybe.when they get it running more reliably .
Do you think the new service will be fully operational with the Nova 2's by June?
I have to go to Glasgow and Advance tickets for June on TPE will be on sale in the next few weeks!
£13.20 return for next month return TPE from Glasgow to Liverpool next month.

Not entirely sure, but I would guess the through services Liverpool to Glasgow ended in the 1980s. There used to be one service a day Liverpool to Edinburgh, but that hasn't run for 20 years or more. Both services were certainly in BR days. The through Scottish services joined links to Bristol, Plymouth and Penzance as well as Southampton and Poole from Liverpool. TfW say they will restart services to Cardiff in a couple of years, so Liverpool is slowly getting reconnected.
But will it be a Nova 2 or 185? More importantly, will the train be delayed or cancelled!?

£32 return (advances Liverpool-Glasgow and back) on Northern/Avanti is available.
This is dirt cheap anyway, and more choice of trains than TPE.
Assuming Northern turns up, of course.
They did in the early days. Think they fell victim to the Operation Princess timetable fiasco.

Except the key thing Liverpool people have been waiting for is the direct train!
Thinking of using this service next year. What are your options if the outward journey from Lime Street is cancelled, would you have to wait hours on the next service or will you be able to use Northern to Wigan/Preston and catch another TPE service. Secondly if it were to be stopped short on the return at Preston, as been happening regularly, what are your options for onward travel to Liverpool?
Surely they'll have it sorted by next June!
I hope so anyway, because I will need to get the first direct TPE from Lime Street at 8.12am.
I don't want to be faffing around trying to get a Northern train during rush hour, that might be delayed or cancelled, to Preston; then catch a packed Pendolino sat in a seat that doesn't align with the window!

When I travel up to Scotland i'll stick with Avanti and change at Warrington, Wigan or Preston. TPE far too unreliable.

There aren't the trains to run more services, without ordering/leasing more.
