77 to Somerton Square, 26 minute wait for 54 to Taunton. Similar on the return.
I`ve noticed some people already doing this.
Of course I hadnt considered that. Still not the most attractive prospect, with a 90 min frequency to Somerton, then a wait there for however long, but I guess for some it is the only option.

In it's defense I'd point out that bus times reporting is 100% accurate, however it's reporting communications from ticket machines and people should understand that before using it, and especially when quoting it.

My criticism isn’t directed at bustimes but those who blithely believe everything without question.

I bet they’ll be someone (not @Whiteway215) that actually believed 66728 spent four days working on the 42-45!!!

Changes on DVSA
Variation: 17, 39, 39X, 126, U1/U3, 5 (Weston), A3, X3/X3X/X3A, 48/48A/49/X49, 1 (Weston), 7 (Weston), M3/M3X, Portway P&R, 8/9, D1, 20 (Weston), X1/X1X/X2, 70/71, U2/R2, 3 (Weston), D2/D2X
Cancelled: D3

Suggests the X39 might become the 39X (For the relaunch)
SB1 has been Cancelled and Reregistered for some reason
D2X sounds like a faster Frome service.

Oh for goodness sake. Let's make things more confusing by making the last character in the service number distinguish between the fast and slow services, rather than the first character

I think the trend is becoming clear. X1X, X3X and now 39X

An X prefix hasn't necessarily meant fast in FWoE land since the North Somerset branding.

Hopefully the 1 and 2 will go back to every 12 mins. On a 2 now and it is standing room only! Cribbs to Stockwood bound. Not even in Henleaze yet!

Was upstairs full too? I've lost count of the number of times I've been on a bus that is full and standing downstairs only for the upper deck to be not even half full!

I find now that many passengers are too lazy to go upstairs, even for long distance travel. My friend sat next to someone on the lower deck of an X39 yesterday. When I messaged her to ask why she didn't go upstairs (which was barely full), she said it was 'effort'!

In Weston news, Coaster Trident 33156 has been off for 3 weeks with a knackered gearbox, is now in 'naughty corner' and could well be terminal. Open top Coaster 32001 came back to Weston last week, presumably being prepared for service. The Sand Bay service has been Streetxxxtes since the demise of 33156 but is now getting busy (Pontins crowd?) and 32222 was on yesterday with one journey I travelled on carrying at least 50 passengers so does need a decker. Meanwhile Coaster 32006 is out almost every day on Service 20 - long may it continue!

Bustimes is now showing that route 17 has switched over to gas bus (from today) and all of it's dedicated buses are out of use (intended for Cornwall according to recent reports). Obviously this hasn't been verified by me in the real world.

All 5 17s are gas powered from today. Firsts Facebook has also just announced this.

Next is the 6/7 which should be next week at some point, then finally the 73 !

I think you're right. The whole numbering system is becoming quite messy!
It all started when they started giving the north Somerset services X prefixes, to keep them in line with the long established X1 (which WAS more of an express service), but these days X just signifies that particular region's brand, which of course is Excel, which the X39 does not fit with. A simple change perhaps, but doesn't roll off the tongue quite so easily!
Wondering about D2X, thinking this could either be a placement journey, or a peak only service.

Certainly saw one of the new gas buses on the 17 this morning when heading into work.

I would imagine FWE aren't going to spend much on an injured Trident. I can't see many of the FWE Tridents lasting much longer.
However with all the Geminis heading to Cornwall many of which are said to be Trident replacements, it would be ironical if the Hengrove Tridents outlived those with FSW!

Also a quick note from further afield, I see that First are refreshing the City Red branding in Southampton:

I'm a big fan of this - much more eyecatching than the Citylines East branding in Bristol!

Yes I was upstairs and there was literally only 3 or 4 seats left!

There’s going to be even more chaos on the roads around Bristol city centre tomorrow. There is a climate change protest event taking place with bus services on diversion. First WoE putting out information on Twitter and its website.
