Are Thameslink running this coming Sunday from Bedford to STP?
Thanks.
All blocked Luton - Bedford Sunday. Replacement buses.
Images taken on Tuesday but forgot to upload them. Weekend works at wellingborough, all 4 lines now have OHLE up. Lots of work going on on the new P4. General overview north to south and south to north.
Also noticed the signals on the slow lines have had a redesignation from the LR (Leicester prefix) to BK (bedford to Kettering prefix).
Does anyone know why there is a staggered/gap between the structure and the registration arm.
The new bridge is almost connected a small gap is all that remains, the end cap has been removed and hoarding erected.
At the time of posting the workers are currently laying tarmac on the new P4.
I would have thought there would be at least twoSeeing as the Bedford-Corby extension is set to be commissioned as a boosterless classic setup this Easter, will it be converted to an autotransformer setup in time for the EMR bi-modes (and if so, how far north from the Borehamwood feed)?
Also, are there any new neutral sections in the ~45-mile stretch between the Chalton feed and Corby?
Sharnbrook, as @Supercoss mentions, and I believe just south of Bedford too. Glendon (Kettering North) will probably become a OHNS once Braybrooke comes online, but I could be wrong.I would have thought there would be at least two
We have had clear reports in the last week or so at the preserved St Albans South signal box that West Hampstead PSB is to remain, and the Entrance-Exit panel to be replaced in due course with screens.
It's possible to have more than one screen workstation controlling the same area. Maybe they will provide a second one for that section.Pity if they replace the NX with screens as one of the issues they're suffering with at the EMCC is that when things get busy or start going up the spout it's impossible for one signaller to deal with everything going on at the same time with a tracker ball, and the SSM or another signaller just can't go on to help out in the same way as with an NX panel. Their southern panel, which now extends South of Sharnbrook Jn is apparently 'challenging' at times even on a good day.
??? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midland_main_lineWhy is this post referring to BEDFORD. I always thought that was on the ECML. I had reason to believe the MML was the line from Bristol via Cheltenham on to Birmingham.
Thanks clears that one up.
I have not yet seen any confirmation that there will, at least, be electrification from Glendon to Market Harborough for the substation at Braybrooke to be connected. The last information was that a financial case was being sought?....Whilst all the workers and plant are nearby, it must be the most sensible option.
That's good news. I doubt there would have been any mobilization in less than a week, and there may not yet even be a design signed off for construction. But hopefully some at least of the current teams can move on without being stood down.It seems as though there is approval after all "On 26 February 2019 Andrew Jones, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, announced that electrification would be extended northwards from Kettering to Market Harborough, enabling the connection of the railway to a new power supply point at Braybrooke" this is from Wiki but it is a quote from the Railway Gazette in March. "Electrification to reach Market Harborough". Railway Gazette. 5 March 2019.
So has any work been done yet from Glendon to MH?
Hi Edwin
The approval was last year (2019) so something should have happened by now I would have thought.....
Also, construction of that particular facility won't begin until sometime this Spring and will take 18 months, according to this news article from August 2019.Nothing visible on the ground apart from prep works for the Braybrook sub-station.
Eeek. Did we all miss that one or was it just me?Hi Edwin
