Could be, there were GBRf liveried 90's on the front of both trains when I passed on the diverted Avanti 9T52.

Will be interesting how it gets on as its path is via the WCML so depends whether the lines are still blocked or not.

Both 5M11 and 5M16 now Crewe, extremely unusual both together , and at this time of day .
5M16 gone straight through Crewe , 5M11 pulled into P12, now left Crewe following 5M16 .

I’m just watching the northbound Aberdeen come off the Tay Bridge into Dundee a mere 4 hours late.

Had the Sleeper through Linlithgow at around 8:00 this morning, heading North. It left London an hour late and lost more time at Carlisle. Is this down to staff shortages?

Could be IF lack of qualified people to uncouple/couple up stock at Edinburgh due to Covid-19 ???

That's a pretty way off assumption to be honest; the uncoupling moves were completed in Edinburgh this morning in pretty quick time. The train was late due to losing over 3 hours elsewhere.

I love Scotland and especially the Highlands. I was planning to visit next month and include a trip on the Jacobite but that will not happen for a while.

Lots of wild theories, but nothing to do with COVID-19. Just the usual Mk5s causing issues... coach fault meant the brakes kept coming on. Pretty much the same issue that impacted 1M11 on Friday and caused it to be heavily delayed then cancelled at Wigan. May or may not be a link.

The 1S25 one last night was thought to be a loco fault initially, hence 92014 was sent from EDB to 'rescue'.

Yes, rather confusing.
After 26th if you were travelling on the Lowlander your booking's been cancelled... but you can rebook?

Fort William & Aberdeen services cancelled to 30th May.
Glasgow & Edinburgh have revised timetable until Thursday then cancelled to 30th May.
Inverness still running.

That doesn’t surprise me in the light of the advice not to travel and the fact that GWR have canned the Night Riviera for the foreseeable future- if anyone has been on CS within the last week or so, what have the loadings been like? I can’t imagine the trains will have been at all busy. I don’t think there’s much point running the Fort William train, in particular, until the advice not to travel is lifted.

Not correct. The Glasgow and Inverness portions are joining at Edinburgh. Passengers from Edinburgh can join there. It will then run as one combined train to Euston in the highlander path.

Only the Fort William and Aberdeen portions are completely cancelled. Glasgow has revised timings; Edinburgh is just using the Glasgow coaches (so late boarding / early alighting) and Inverness is unchanged. It is using the highlander path from Edinburgh to London (and vice versa).

This is because the Inverness train has a different retail service ID from the Glasgow train and there is no option in the current national reservation system to move en masse all the bookings. They would have to be moved one by one.

Sorry, it wasn't easy to understand.

Well that's my late May Bank Holiday Glasgow trip messed up with the lowlander cancelled. A quick check on the website and it seems the tickets for the Inverness portion have sold out or have been removed from sale.

On their website it states that all Lowlander bookings from the 26th March to the 30th May have been cancelled and any travellers must rebook.

It’s not cancelled. It’s running. Your booking is cancelled and you have been refunded. The train is currently empty. Ring them up to rebook. Or just do it online.

Website is saying " no service" for the 21st May (when putting either Glasgow & Edinburgh) with the only thing available if you select Inverness is a club berth with nothing if you select Stirling

Yes, sorry, I forgot - it will take a bit of time to get the new timetables and retail service IDs to match up again. Please be patient.
