I wonder why it had engine issues...? Top speed on Diesel is approx. 87mph, and acceleration is supposed to be at least as good as a 150.Engine issues and terminated at Heath to return to Canton. It's taken the best part of two years to go three miles no faster than 20mph, and delaying three other trains around it.
Yeah who knew a test run is just thatEngine issues and terminated at Heath to return to Canton. It's taken the best part of two years to go three miles no faster than 20mph, and delaying three other trains around it.
The point being made is that if the test runs are still failing, it's not likely that the units will be ready for service any time soon, despite all the delay that we've already experienced.Yeah who knew a test run is just that
Did it make it there...?769003 is currently on it's way to Canton depot.
I expect it will take a bit longer to fix an engine issue. Maybe late this week again. I could be proved wrong thoughBetter luck tomorrow?
"if it breaks down, we'll give it a shove, and it can roll all the way back down to Canton"
3Z69 is showing on Tracksy. It'll be interesting to see how far it goes today!
Looks like they have another one. Got past Heath this time.

Or it’s the same one and the problem wasn’t as bad as the fortune tellers on here predicted?
It is the same one (769008)
Two (the driving vehicles); one Diesel engine is under each. The traction motors are under the non-driving vehicles. How many diesel power cars are on a 769?

2, each driving vehicle has an engine/generator
Watched it at Llanishen/Lisvane,down and up.A bonus for those living near the tracks will be a lack of engine roar, and no overwhelming stench of diesel fumesHere we go. 769008 at Aber
