Hello all,
More out of nerves and feeling the need to be prepared as much as possible for my interview tomorrow i'm looking for advice on if I have any gaps in what I have prepared for.
I have a guards interview with Transport for Wales and so far have learnt all I can and refreshed my knowledge of Transport for Wales including the South Wales Metro improvements,
I have practiced interview questions and answered some STAR example questions I found around the internet
I am lucky in my current job as I have been able to speak to some conductors on train services in my current role regarding their role and what I can learn from their advice
I have also looked at the role on NCS as well as the advertisement I responded to which I found the role as
Thank you in advance!
I have also looked at the role on NCS as well as the advertisement I responded to which I found the role as
- check the carriages are clean before the start of a journey
- Safe dispatch of the train at stations
- make sure equipment, doors and controls are working properly
- walk through carriages during the journey to check tickets and travel documents
- answer passengers' questions about routes, arrival times, and connections
- make announcements over the public address system
- make sure passengers get on and off the train safely
- deal with unexpected delays or emergencies, for example, a passenger falling ill
- Excellent customer service and helping passengers with any passenger assistance
- Be on the lookout for vulnerable or distressed passengers
- Ensure the safety of the train at all times in accordance with the rule book and training
- Using the railway protocols (I am aware of what they are but won't divulge here as I'm not sure if they are for public domain) for unattended packages, and suspicious behaviors.
- Reporting all lost property and dealing with it in accordance with company protocol
Thank you in advance!
