Congrats on getting a start, does anyone have the 6 questions they ask at the mmi been trying to find them to prep for that as well. Thanks in advance
It’s not a set 6 questions otherwise everyone will have pre-prepared answers for them which is defeating the purpose somewhat.

It is structured around two main areas. Beforehand we had to provide 6 example answers to questions like,
Tell me about a time when you have dealt with an emergency situation.

The other thing to bear in mind is that if they don’t like one of your examples they will ask you in the MMI for a different example.

Ah okay I thought that but when was reading posts I seen people asking about questions thought was mibby set things they asked about.

Must say it's impossible to get through the concentration tests on the times really hope nerves don't get better of me on the day

They are a good bunch at DB testing centre. You will find it fairly relaxed and they discuss each section with you before proceeding. I’d say, work through the testing booklet sent, but use the Group Bourdon dots sheets that you can print off (see Group Bourdon thread at top of sheet) and get the hang of the dots and patterns. Other than that, use the search function at the top, type in MMI and read as much info as you can.. There are so many versions and different experiences of the MMI but at least you will have a broad idea of what to expect.

You’ll be fine, don’t worry and try to not get flustered. I know it’s easier said than done!

When I did the day at DB I started at about 9 and I was out for around 2 in the afternoon.

They make it really chilled out and you can ask any questions you like.

MMi wise…think emergency situations, concentrations for long periods of time etc etc

Good luck!

Best news ever today. Got my start date for Peak Forest on June. Have to say it was a quick deal as applied 15th Feb 22 and 4 months later starting. I know a lot of you have had a long wait and some still waiting. I feel very fortunate indeed. Best of luck to anyone waiting to hear or who have applied recently. Any questions please feel free to shout out.

Anyone on here starting in June
Well done mate! Yes i start training in June too. At Toton.

Yeah think I'm just over thinking it all (bad habit) hopefully on the day will make sense and be no problem.

Thank for all the advice guys and best of luck to everyone on the training.

Been told I’ve passed my interview and in the talent pool awaiting course start date. Well done to everyone else who’s had good news.

Seems Peak Forest is moving along nicely. Do FOC’s struggle to recruit there normally? I only ask as it seems vacancy adverts seem to stay up for a long time. If I lived closer I’d be all over it.

What is the situation if you have already passes the OPC at enhanced level with another TOC?

I had passed with another TOC in 2020. DB require you to do all the tests again irrespective of previous results. I did it with DB March 22.

With the management/final interview for DB was there any questions regarding non-technical skills that came up?

I only ask as I had a final interview with EMR last month which ultimately I failed but the interview was very geared up to knowing the non-technical skills?

Seems like plenty of you coming to Peak Forest. Some have start dates and some still waiting in the talent pool.

Be good to see you all when you start. Any questions drop me a DM

you don't i passed all mine with another toc in 2019 and 2020 which was fine for DB Cargo i entered the talent pool 6 weeks ago with no retakes of any assessments.

They said my results last 5 years so i would be fine for the talent pool for 2 years.

I went straight to DMI applied November 2021.

My understanding is different depots do it different ways and clearly have different requirements.

For those of you that are on a course have you been told the location where it’s being run? Will you be in hotels etc

Seems a bit odd either way. I’m hoping I don’t have to potentially resit any of mine from Feb 2020, despite the fact I actually did them at DB in Doncaster…

It would seem rather strange for them to make you resit them in this instance. I think they generally accept a full suite of passes, I had failed mmi so I had to redo the lot (bit nervy!)

Courses are at either didcot in Oxfordshire or Toton Nottingham. You’re put up in a hotel with breakfast and evening meal provided. You can also claim back you’re lunch and you’re mileage.

It is a set 6 questions, I've done it twice and it was the same 6 questions both times and the same questions were posted on here or given by a friend. I agree, it does defeat the purpose I suppose but I'm sure most of us on here who have gone through it knew the 6 questions and thus prepared for it.

Knowing the six questions doesn’t defeat the purpose but just gives you time to consider good examples what you have done over your lifetime.
The examiners are more interested in the answers you give to the questions than whether you are able to come up with them all in 20 minutes off the top of your head.

It doesn't defeat the purpose in any way shape or form. You cannot blab your way through the MMI. You either have the skills to pass the MMI or you don't.

Correct. The worst thing might actually be trying to rehearse because they will find out those little fibs you might think you can get past them…
