TfW have set out that services that run through the red warning zone will be cancelled, but nothing yet about anything else. I expect it will just come as it comes. Is there actually going to be emergency timetables published or just cancellations and delays on the day
I can’t see any actual timetable on say the LNER or TPE sites for example just information that things ‘may’ happen

Closed York to Kings Cross 12:00-2000 on TuesdayIt is a bit of a moving feast at the moment.
Expect announcement of line closures for Tuesday between 12:00 and 20:00
Given that we are still 2 days away from Tuesday midday, isn't that over-cautious? Lots of people's plans wrecked and, if it turns out cooler than forecast, what an own-goal for the railway.Closed York to Kings Cross 12:00-2000 on Tuesday
And if they don’t plan and it is as bad as it is, you are left with trains stranded with 1000s of passengers stuck.Given that we are still 2 days away from Tuesday midday, isn't that over-cautious? I'd put money on it not being as hot as forecast.
Reckon you'll be proved wrong and there'll be somewhere in England recording at least 40°C.I'd put money on it not being as hot as forecast.

By the looks of things Tuesday will be slightly warmer by 1 or 2 degrees according to the MET office for my area.Re the Marston Vale the 230s would be failing all over the place, they don't like heat. I can't see any excuse for not running St Albans.
Is Tuesday now going to be worse?
EMR has now updated the website to include changes to the regional side.

Monday is still likely to be 30°C during the day in Plymouth. That's 86°F in old money. Quite warm enough, if you ask me!Spare a thought for Plymouth. 23 degrees forecast on Tuesday....heatwave, what heatwave.....?
yea im looking for the same infoSupposed to be travelling Eurostar Mon eve but I can't see anything on their website
I'm just outside Sheffield and the BBC forecast is predicting it will be 41c on Monday. Meanwhile the more reliable Met Office is predicting it will be 6 degrees lower at 35c; still very hot but hardly unbearable. Anybody would think the BBC were pushing a climate change agenda.....Reckon you'll be proved wrong and there'll be somewhere in England recording at least 40°C.
HS1 tends to be fine - no speed restrictions were imposed during some of the worst storms this year that shut the rest of the Southeastern network. Delays on HS1 to E* will mainly be imported from late running SEHS services.yea im looking for the same info
my only real guess is as HS1 is built to French LGV specs then its prob designed to handle South France temps
I'll take your bet. How much do you want to put on?Given that we are still 2 days away from Tuesday midday, isn't that over-cautious? Lots of people's plans wrecked and, if it turns out cooler than forecast, what an own-goal for the railway.

The met office websites location selection really isn't something to be relied upon - website services for any specific location are useless most of the time. Most of the models are trending towards that higher figure, the Met aren't always renowned for reliability in situations like this!
Indeed! You select a town on the Met Office website but it only forecasts large areas, so you'll get the same forecast in one place as another potentially 70 miles awayThe met office websites location selection really isn't something to be relied upon - website services for any specific location are useless most of the time. 35°c isn't unbearable, however try doing something such as lifting, carrying, shovelling aggregate or wearing lots of ppe and it very quickly becomes very uncomfortable.I'm just outside Sheffield and the BBC forecast is predicting it will be 41c on Monday.
