Does anyone know anything about a company called Transpora Group?

They seem to be very active on social media but I can't really find anything to suggest that they are real?

Believe they've got a few companies under their belt.

Coastliner - They run a few public and school services in and around Blackpool and the Fylde. I think they used to trade as Catch22 bus at one point...
Sightseeing Bus Tours - Open top bus services in Manchester, Leeds, Chester and Birmingham. Although only the Manchester tour is actually running at the moment.
Londonder Buses - Looks like they have a Routemaster they're planning to use on tourist services/private hire work in London. Though the website isn't live at the moment.
Altonian Coaches - Bus and coach hire in and around Hampshire. Think they only have a few Transit mini-buses branded up, but will bring buses in from elsewhere in the group if required.

I'm sure others will be able to provide more info!

In the first instance I would use a search engine, where you will easily find their website:

The website is most curious - any "interesting" link such as Routemaster services in London get the magic "404". They are not, I understand operating at present. The operators within the group operate very few vehicles indeed and do not tell you where they actually do operate - they certainly could not supply the range of vehicles implied. The picture of lined up Stagecoach tridents with an implication that they were invoved in sourcing these is misleading - there is an all white non statecoach vehicle included and I suspect this is in the Wheelers fleet. Altonian (with a legal address in Salford) was previously part of the Wheelers group of companies. It has ten operator licences in the South West traffic area but not sure any vehicles are actually current. This is all very familiar but let us see! Hopefully in the next few days the website will echo reality! David

I have no personal knowledge, but trawling through what's on the internet suggests to me their involvement in the SW traffic area is primarily to provide rail replacement services.

They provide (and I quote) ".... the very best services in our industry"

Strong statement...

They were Catch22, but appear to have changed their name and logo to something that bares more than a passing resemblance to a certain Blazefield operation. Obviously, a name change was in order after stalking the Traffic Commissioner.

Before we go any further down this road, I will remind everyone that comments about individuals involved in the running of any company should be civil and, more importantly, accurate.

If there's any sign of nasty comments, the thread will be closed.

Also appears they do private hire work in Bristol with 'MiCab'....

Deja vu......

The Londoner Buses site is now online. Lots of blurb but no real information about what they'll be doing, other than 'a number of sightseeing tours in Central London using classic Routemaster buses'

With @GusB advice in mind, I think a number of us are waiting to see what transpires and it is hard to keep an open mind, given the past record of Mr Hand. There were always a lot of "misunderstandings" in what CityFox did or did not have/operate etc.

Not certain how much experience that the Finance and Operations Manager will bring; they were born in Jan 2002!

Although claiming to be running from July, TFL have not approved the application at this stage - website will put people off!

a GCSE perhaps?
It would be prudent to note that somebody born in 2002 would now be aged 20 - scary, I know, to many of us!! There are some individuals who have been very successful despite their young age - a notable example would be Martijn Gilbert who I believe founded his own bus operation whilst still a teenager, successfully sold it, and now has an excellent reputation within the passenger transport industry and is currently MD of GoNorthEast, operating 1,000+ vehicles.

I have no knowledge of this particular case, and nor do I have an axe to grind, but I do think it is worth noting that young entrants to the industry probably have more to offer than a GSCE (I appreciate the comment was tongue in cheek and enjoyed the humour, for what it's worth).

Again, with the guidance of @GusB ringing in our ears...

Martijn Gilbert is rather the exception as regards the bus industry (and indeed, the commercial world). We see stories occasionally about some 16-year-old making a fortune from gaming, or cryptocurrency, or whatever. What makes these newsworthy is their rarity!

Some people on these boards expressed some skepticism in the past about the former CityFox empire at the time - lots of announcements and job adverts, companies being registered, "acquisitions" and the group structure. The events that then unfolded seemed to confirm those concerns.

Nice, flashy websites full of buzzwords though

Funnily enough I went to Blackpool yesterday and saw quite a few Coastliner vehicles, but none had Transpora branding on them as it shows on their Twitter photos.

So was that some trickery on photoshop or did they only apply it to one bus and you didn't see said bus?

Anyone after some context about some of the things in here you can read about the infamous CityFox group which ran and claimed to run a variety of taxi, bus, feeder shuttle and (er?) nightclub services.

Grab some popcorn, it’s a long and thrilling read…

It appears that LJO9CCD does have Transpora logos and is painted in white/green. There’s a few recent photos on Flickr taken in Manchester and Fareham.
There’s also photos of P6WTL in white with Altonian Coaches Ltd and the Eastleigh address towards the rear and mini-coach HV22HHY.

You opened a can of worms there! Spent about 2 hours reading it . Seeing Catch22 (now Coastliner in this operation) pop up there was quite the crossover.

P6WTL was recently in use at CT Plus owned Powell’s in Sheffield/Rotherham.

Whatever may be with Rhys, he did the right thing in leaving HCT Group by the looks of things!
