The 73/9s have AAR multiple working fitted so they can run together with 59s, 66s, 67s, and 69s.*
The advantage for the 67s is that unlike the 66s they can provide HEP, so it would be possible for the 67s to run on their own if the couplers and other relevant interfaces were modified. We're probably just going to have to wait and see though.

* = technically the Chiltern 68s too, for completeness
Which begs the question, is an additional crew member needed to supervise the ETH/HEP in the Class 73 with a 66, but would a 67 be monitoring the 73's ETH/HEP from the driver's desk?

You could probably add the class 70 to the compatible AAR list

Additional staff member isn't required when it's double-headed by class 73/9. No reason one would be required on a service with a 67 up front coupled to and working in multiple with the 73

This afternoon at Arlington.
Not my photo.
I really like that. Livery suits it well. I have been told that the sleeper duties aren't progressing very well at the moment so they might do scrap/stock/unit movements instead. They won't appear on any freight duties though.

Any idea when 023 will go for a new paint job?
It's at Crewe IEMD because it has been a very naughty boy in Scotland and needs a couple of hammers taking to it! Presume GB will hold back consideration of a repaint until it is working correctly

67023's repaint will happen once 67027 is released from Eastleigh and is working properly-ish.

Will they still be called Charlotte and Stella or will GB rename them now as they are under a new FOC?

Something doesn’t look quite right about that.. I’m guessing it will obviously get yellow ends since it isn’t compliant.
There is a yellow panel. Personally if I was Gbrf I’d just make the whole front yellow instead of any orange, but not have the yellow area go any wider than the light clusters so you can’t see it from the side but they seem to like rectangular yellow panels

Strange that they didn’t use the opportunity for new BMAC lights like the 66s

If these are dedicated sleeper locos, I’m surprised they weren't painted into CS blue/ teal such as the previous 67. In any case, this is certainly an improvement on 67023 at the moment in that horrific faded Colas yellow.
