This aged well

Earlier today I said Croatia would not reach the final. I am now doubting myself once more!

There is now the very real possibility that the final could be a repeat of the Croatia-France fixture from 2018, although of course this makes a lot of assumptions about results and progression at this stage.

No chance they won't turnover Argentina or looking unlikely (at the moment) Netherlands

The referee has been abysmal

Also, much credit to the quality of the Argentine support

How many yellow cards in the end?

Probably a fair result, but hat tip to the Dutch for pushing it to the very end. Another great day of WC footy.

Hearing about the result from a freezing Exeter City home gave vs Sheffield Wednesday. We played so well the whole match but Wednesday somehow scored last minute to make it 1-1.

If Morocco can get through, maybe England can even squeeze through! o_O

First African side to make the semi-finals.
Ronaldo having a tantrum and storming down the tunnel was golden!
His international retirement may be imminent?

But perhaps he has a point, you'd think they'd stand a decent chance of winning that game with him on the pitch.

Maybe, but no matter how good you are you won't make many friends with the Billy Big Plums attitude. They looked better without him stealing the limelight in the round of 16.

It's the big-headedness and arrogance of Ronaldo that means Messi gets the "GOAT" tag ahead of him in my book.

Ah well here we go.....

Incidentally why does Roy Keane inflict that horrendous hirsute appendage adorning his face upon us ?

He looks much better clean shaven in my opinion.

Great opener from France :(

Oh to be a fly on the wall in the VAR room... fair enough it was outside the area, but it was still a foul.

That said, it was a fantastic finish from the French lad. If that turns out to be the decider then fair enough. But obviously if that's the case I home Morocco do them in the semis

That's it for another four years :(

Had the chances and missed the penalty.

Will be supporting France now as the last team from Western Europe.

What on earth have they got 3 women on the pitch talking about this for :?:

Southgate out obvs but what reason tonight? Kneeling? Grealish? Formation? Not playing 17 up front? Fact he isnt from a big club? To nice? Not Pep?

We are out because kane missed a penalty. I wonder if kane gets the abuse Saka got for missing a penalty? I bet he doesnt.

Yes the ref was poor but he gave us 2 penalties! We had chances and didnt take them. Thats why we are out. Csnt complain about how we played or the stype of play.

Anyway: Southgate out

Rashford also was similarly abused at the time after missing a penalty in that match.

I think that’s actually what Darlo is getting at and it’s a fair point.

We lost. We weren’t robbed but we were probably a bit unlucky and it was closer than I thought it’d be. Southgate out? No! We’re nearly there and that’s because we deserve to be because of what he’s turned this team into. Go back ten years and remember how awful we were?

For me I’m more than happy to see him in charge for another tournament and then look at things after that depending on how we’re doing. Tonight was disappointing but we shouldn’t overreact.

Edit - I said last night that I’d jump into the hotel fountain outside if we beat France tonight (and I would’ve done it), I’m disappointed that I stayed dry even if I am a little relieved.
