Hi Rhys, just thought i'd ask, given that Transpora is a bigger brand covering multiple areas, why doesn't Transpora take over the Coastliner website and make it for the other areas too rather than having a good site for Coastliner but then Bristol and Gloucestershire have just basic timetables without the interactive timetables and tracking (I know tracking on on bustimes but not the same for passengers is it).

This would give a better perception of Transpora since right now, it's just a brand really. A few sporadic, small bus operations. Doesn't seem to make much sense linking it all as Transpora when everything is kept separate and the networks aren't linked.
Hi - good feedback!

The Blackpool website, we can manage, but is a website designed around the myTrip system by passenger - it basically takes data from our transXchange file. We will pull them all into line soon as effectively the Coastliner brand has now been dropped.

It seems from observation the Londoner buses route A has been dropped to 2 PVR. Hopefully this makes the operation more sustainable and succeed into the future, is there any information on the route change yet?

Price of an all-day ticket has also been jacked up by 50 per cent from £5 to £7.50

When you say ‘jacked up’ I don’t think a day ticket for a sightseeing service for £7.50 is unreasonable. We launched it on the £5 fare over the winter months - costs continue to rise, that reflects in the onward ticket price. It’s a business.

Don't get me wrong I was surprised that the fare was ever as low as £5 in the first place - was expecting pricing much more akin to other tourist/sightseeing services from day 1

The honest answer to this is… when you are a new business, online travel agents, hotels, oversees travel businesses are very nervous about promoting unless it’s ‘value’ for money. So we stuck with the easy £5 fare online and on bus to start with….

Ensignbus’ RT8 will be in use on the Londoner Buses route A on Saturday, according to the Londoner Buses Facebook page which says:

As if our Routemasters are not classic enough, we are so pleased to have a special "pre-war" RT making a special guest star appearance on Saturday 4th February.
RT8, approaching its 83rd birthday, is being provided by our good friends at Ensignbus and will be operating on Route A between Piccadilly Circus and Waterloo Station for one day only.
Tickets can be purchased on the day on board the bus, or online from our website.

The Bristol operations have received a further Alexander Dennis E200MMC for use on the 52 - YX22 OHY, which, according to ‘Bus Lists on the Web’, was new to Cobra Corporate Services of Fleet.

I believe today was the first journey of the weekly 781 between Blakeney and Gloucester. Anyone happen to know what is running on it? I presume the Bristol 200MMCs, but that's a fair amount of dead mileage!

Looks like Transpora Bournemouth are going to take over the following St Peter's School services in Bournemouth from Yellow Coaches/Xelabus:

- 906 West Moors to St Peters School
- 907 Corfe Mullen to St Peters School
- 908 Springbourne to St Peters School
- 909 Wimborne to St Peters School

Interestingly, they've spelt Wimborne as "Wimbourne", National Highways had to apologise for making that typo themselves a few months ago!

Morebus have now announced they'll be operating St Peters School routes 906-909 (numbered back to 85-88) from March 20th, so it appears these may not be happening for Transpora after all.

Either that or St Peters students will be spoilt for choice!

To be fair the statement from Morebus does look rather rushed!

Also interesting how morebus have seemed to go back to the former YB route numbering

So that seems to leave Transpora with just one school run, Verwood to Poole and Parkstone Grammar Schools. Is that a viable entree to the Bournemouth area ?

May I remind everyone of the requirement to keep your posts respectful and accurate. If you have something to say about a company or individual, you should provide evidence to back up any claims.

Correct! Seems Morebus have more interest in going head to head with us, than sorting out their 20m gaps on m1/m2 or finding space to stop parking their buses on the street outside the depot at night!

Traffic has always plagued the m1/m2 and other services on Ashley Road (primarily) - others areas cause issues too however. They've also always parked vehicles on the street (if you mean at Poole). This is an approved space to queue vehicles for the fuel and cleaning roads.

The whole point of tendering is to submit a competitive bid and it sounds like that's what they've done here, so I'm not sure why the backhanded comment was necessary.

No bid needed submitting. Commercial services. We are taking over on the 20th. They’ve registered additional routes at confusion of the school and council at an attempt to keep a new operator out of the area very evidently. Not backhanded; just facts.

Well said.
Except the 85-88 are not tenders, they are commercial.

m1-2 are a shambles at present with missing journeys adding to the traffic issues. Why on earth Go South Coast wants to compete on a schools service when they have many other challenges at present is quite puzzling.

Megalomania I guess. ..

This seems like a wholly unnecessary mess. You say that this has caused confusion with the school, presumably this means you're in contact/discussion with the school and Transpora's new services have been introduced in discussion/agreement with them?

Yet, the Morebus announcement says:

Following recent discussions with the school, we are delighted to be working closely with them

Are you suggesting Morebus are being dishonest or might the school been in touch with both operators and are being disingenuous with you?

The 20th will certainly be an interesting day! I live along the route of two of the buses and am usually walking to work around the time they pass, so I will keep my eyes peeled to see what passes by

Thanks for clarifying the position from the Transpora side. May I make a small suggestion though that the main website could be amended, as the Facebook post says 20th February but links to the website where the 90x route pages all say 18th March.

If Transport is taking over, what will happen about the £600 parents have paid for season tickets for the academic year?

Routes to St Peter's School, St Catherine's Road, are provided by Yellow Coaches

St Peter's school routes change March or February?

Bournemouth School Route Fares - Transpora are advertising fares of £4.70 day and £21.00 week. morebus standard child zone AB fares, which cover these routes are £4.00 day and £18.00 7days. morebus also offer term and half-term fares on a school by school basis rather than a monthly fare, which is more term friendly. The morebus tickets normally include travel in at least the zone A general network in addition to the school bus. Which would you choose?
