Does anyone know how many 313s are currently used on a daily basis, as the Hove and some Portsmouth trains have been swapped to 377s?
Only one of the three Brighton to Portsmouth turns is a 377. The 09:00 and 10:00 off Brighton are still 313s, repeating every three hours.

Cheers but I am looking further back...from 2013....

205 is booked to work today but not on Seafords. Engineering work tomorrow means it may not even be out...

I don't have the actual diagrams but they were similar to today for the services that still run.

West Worthing 3 units
Lewes 1 unit
Portsmouth 3 units
Littlehampton/Bognor/Portsmouth 4 units
Seaford 3 units
Hove shuttle 1 unit

The 16th diagram did Brighton-Ore-Hastings-Ore-Brighton departing around 08:20. It used the bay platform at Hastings which was very unusual for an EMU. It then stabled. I think it went to Littlehampton in the afternoon. There was also a Brighton to Eastbourne run in the pm peak. I can't recall how it fitted in with the diagrams. Possibly the Lewes shuttle diagram?

No, Bikeman78 is correct: back in 2013, it was only one unit on the hourly Lewes - Brighton service. The frequency wasn't doubled until May 2018, when 313s stopped regularly serving Eastbourne and Hastings.

As I recall, it was the single Lewes unit which did the PM peak Eastbourne run (I think it formed the 17.52 off Brighton).

Thank you, so does that mean currently with the 313s there is:

- 2 units Portsmouth
- 3 units Seaford
- 4 units Bognor/Littlehampton/Portsmouth

So 9 diagrams in total at the moment?

I travelled on one of the Seafords 313 on Friday, and noted that a GX 387 was running in place of a 313 diagram!

What diagrams are usually considered the most intensive for a 313 to work, and thus most likely to wear them down?

I shudder to think of the consequences of removing another fleet with no replacement

We’ve gone through it before, hopefully this time around, Southern aren’t willing to cut as many services to cover the hole.

As soon as SWR get their 701s earning money, we should be seeing a cascade of stock which should see southern getting some 377/5s back. It was planned for last summer. Havent heard that this has been shelved.

My son wants to catch a 313 from Brighton tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon. Does anyone know if and how often they are likely to run? We’re making a special trip from London, so keen to have any info so I can manage expectations. Thank you.
