I believe so710 has returned from Go North East and is being converted into a training bus. Wonder if this means the original plan to convert 346 has been scrapped
Wonder if it’s ready for scrap as believe 346 had a bit of reliability issues previouslyI believe so
I'm.not aware of it going for scrap but its possible I supposeWonder if it’s ready for scrap as believe 346 had a bit of reliability issues previously
A roof collapses at the East Yorkshire Buses depot in Hull has led to severe damage to a bus.
The front of the bus has been wrecked, smashing the windscreen and exposing wires built inside. A witness saw the ruined bus in the early hours of this morning.
A spokesperson for East Yorkshire Buses said: "At approximately 0230 this morning, the front of the depot on Anlaby Road sustained some damage which resulted in a partial collapse of the building’s frontage. None of our colleagues or members of the public were injured thankfully and we are currently in the process of making this safe and assessing the requirement for repairs.
I was told by one of the drivers that the bus that fell victim to the damage was due to be departed from the fleet and passed on to Ellie Rose.Well, some of the roof has caved in at Anlaby Road:

A big chunk of roof/frontage has fallen off the front of the building the middle of the night onto ex-London E200 286 (identified in article, it's nasty) giving that a one-way ticket to PVS Barnsley. All the 'EAST YORKSHIRE' lettering, barring one remaining 'A', has come off too. It's quite a mess, from the pictures I've seen.
EDIT: An image posted with permission from Discord user "Tom_NoMorePacers#1350" of what's left of the lettering; just above it was the bit of roof that fell off:

Thankfully, it looks like no one was hurt and no other buses have been affected. If I may speculate, though, Google Street View clearly shows large cracks around where the roof/frontage fell down...
To be honest I am not sure it has seen much maintenance since it was builtThat looks bad, but I doubt the building has seen much maintenance over the last 30 years.
I'm not aware of any plans to put any more deckers in the coaster liveryWhile they are painting the remaining double deckers do you think they will put any into the "Coaster" livery? When summer (8 months) services start there are not enough to cover the routes, which does look like a half bodged job.
Looking on the latest Street View imagery, you can definitely see cracks forming around the area that fell off. Seems it started from one small crack just above the bus wash in 2008 and progressively escalated until it finally gave in yesterday. I’ve never actually thought about it myself until now, but it makes me wonder whether EY were actually aware of how bad the cracks in the roof had gotten. That looks bad, but I doubt the building has seen much maintenance over the last 30 years.

I suspect also under the Shipps there was no money to do anything about it as wellFrom experience of working in large businesses, I can imagine it will have been reported and then passed between various people and departments, none of whom are willing to take ownership.
Ticket machine got changed over. Was 364 which was rectified mid morning so started tracking correctlyJust wondering if anyone has any idea if the old Presidents have returned to the fleet as saw this pop up on the Eybuses app this morning. Certain this was sold to Ellie Rose the other year?
702 and 708 also been sold according to StevenKnightMedia on Twitter.778 is in paint shop with 736 in body shop. 703/4/6 have been sold to Ellie Rose
I'm not aware of 702/8 having been sold, there has been no mention of an invoice for them702 and 708 also been sold according to StevenKnightMedia on Twitter.

We've got some pretty big news for our customers in Scarborough... We're building a new bus depot! After nearly two years of work from behind the scenes, we're relocoating and combining both our Barry's Lane and Westwood depots to a new location on Taylor Way in the middle of 2024.
The site is being developed in partnership with the landlord GoodREIT, and will be future-proofed to ensure that buses can be maintained, serviced and cleaned for many years to come – including facilities to allow a transition to electric buses in the future. The new site is also being built to the latest environmental standards, which will help to reduce the carbon footprint of the company’s operations.
Subject to planning approval, the work will start on the site this summer, and is expected to take around twelve months.
It'll be interesting to see what they do for town centre layovers and reliefs as Taylor Way is quite far out
Perhaps not as bad as you might think. The main routes 7/7A, 10, 12/13 may have journeys that are truncated when reaching Eastfield. It is a long way out, so lots of dead miles probably for some routes.

Service X47 will now also operate Monday – Saturday daytime up to every hour. It will continue to serve Barmby Moor and Wilberfoss replacing service 46. The route between Beverley and Hull will change to run via Beverley Road (same as X46), rather than Cottingham.
Complementing the X46, this will double the number of buses per hour between Pocklington and Beverley, Beverley and York, as well as York to Hull. Journeys between Market Weighton, Pocklington and York will also benefit from better co-ordinated departures, and a common route along Hull Road through to York Railway Station.
Between Beverley, Beverley Road, and Hull a combined service of up to every 15 minutes will operate daytime with the combination of the 23, 121, X46, X47.
B1/B2 were partly subsidised by the council, but ultimately not profitable at all. The new council tend which EY are operating has a reduced frequency. In amongst the annual service changes (which include the withdrawal and replacement of Beverley Locals routes B1 and B2, another great success following the X5!) the EastRider X46 is getting a half-hour frequency:

Service Changes from 2 April
From Sunday 2 April, we will be introducing some service changes across the region in order to improve our reliability.www.eastyorkshirebuses.co.uk
921 (YX69 NMA) has been pulled off the University corridor and is in for paint, per East Yorkshire Enthusiasts Facebook page, likely for refurb for the X46. Reckon some of the 921-929 batch might get the refurb treatment, and with the 45 and 46 getting cut again, 927 and 928 might get reallocated to it.
Yep, exactly my point. 927 and 928 will get a resticker, that’s for sure.No need at all for any of 922-26 to get any refurb work done. 927/8/9 will get the Bridlington branding removed and just replaced with the Hull branding
It's interesting that EYMS is seemingly going from strength to strength having escaped the stench of Go North East.In amongst the annual service changes (which include the withdrawal and replacement of Beverley Locals routes B1 and B2, another great success following the X5!) the EastRider X46 is getting a half-hour frequency:
