Part 2 - There is no track.
Part 3 - How do you know you haven't missed any?? there could be error you didn't see.
Sorry I meant the shapes only.
Been a long week.
I made 1-2 errors on the second set of track.

Also im pretty sure I didn't miss any errors. It comes up with "error" when you make one or time out for the shapes.
For the track, its just something you know. Like you know if you made an error or didn't respond fast enough.

Based on my experience, id advise you guys not to worry too much about it. Theres a lot of scope in regards to this test. Its not as hard as the ones that will come later as there's a higher margin of error.

In all fairness he didn’t say there was a track in part 2, he said there were shapes.

Also, it tells you when you make a mistake so that’s how he/she knows.

Yeah mate I typed track. It was my mistake haha.

But yeah the track doesn't tell you if you made an error, though you can pretty much tell if you did or didn't. The shapes tell you when you make an error.
Also I might add, I used a touch pad on a laptop and probably should have used a mouse.

Did I see on here about the VSE that when it flashes up 'High Demand' on the signal parts that was an error too? In my mind I thought the website was warning me too many people were using it, and ignored it. If so my 5/6 errors may be an understatement.

I've had an email today regards my results from m7 and sve, saying there may be a delay ofnupton28 days for the results ? I completed mine on Tuesday this week just gone ? So not sure if that's good or bad ?
I got the email this morning too dated 27th and says initial application although I've done the M7/VSE. Maybe just an admin error.

Thanks! will see what happens, must also pass the SJT, I think I have done ok in it.
Just try not to stress about it all. Carry life on as normal and try to put it all to the back of your head until you receive an update. Easier said than done but its not worth stressing over. Good luck

Mine was dates the 27th too, didn't even notice that part, although to be fair when I saw the email my heart sank I've just gone back and re read it, and it does say intial application too, unless they still class everything we're doing upto the my and vse as initial application still, which makes sense ?

I'm pretty sure you did not read this correctly. It was asking you to make an assessment in terms of the importance of the task in relation to a train drivers responsibilities.
Nowhere did it state that the tasks were 'Unimportant'.
Maybe if you'd done a little research into the Non Technical skills you would have understood how imporant some are over others.
Funnily enough, 'Attention to detail' is one of the

I can assure you that I read the introduction to the question several times.
I should have said 'least important' as opposed to 'unimportant', so apologies for that.

I'm well aware of the NTS related to train driving and put what I thought was most and least important for a trainee train driver whilst driving.
For example, listening was my first choice, It stated in bold, "driving as a trainee" or something very similar and as a trainee I thought listening to my instructor would be paramount...after all I'd be new to it all!

Anyway it's irrelevant now.

Ah, yeah it is quite easy to see if you’ve made the error yourself on the first one. I actually quite enjoyed it.

I used a mouse and it was good, how do you think you did?

Thank you, this helps. Don't need to stress, think positive and all will be well. I had really severe anxiety problems, but yoga meditation really helped me.

I downloaded a VSE tool to help me, its really good, similar to the real test not exactly the same, but much better than the practice which bears no resemblance.
Do you have a link for this?

You may wish to go back and review what he said not wishing to be pedantic.
He said “part 2: 2 errors on track”
It tells you when you make a mistake on the shapes only.

Hi, It’s been bugging me so I thought I’d ask, when the dot stopped moving along the track for a couple of seconds and remained in the same spot, in your opinion do you think this would count as an error?
I don't think it does, as far as I know if it misses a stop and changes colour that is an error. It was moving at a constant rate.

I can confirm this is classed as an error. I think errors are classed as anything out of the normal course.
The more you talk, the more you're aiding your competition I must say...

As far as I remember though, the dot was moving at a constant speed!

Ah ok, Mine was moving at a constant rate during part 1 of the test, but during part 3 at some stops it did halt for an additional 4 seconds or so..

Thanks for your reply!

Hopefully it doesn't count, otherwise I might be in trouble. I don't know if it can be confirmed 100% that this is an error? anyone

Yes maybe, but I am genuinely curious about this and I don’t think OPC will provide any feedback.. Also, if I do not make it through to the next stage I will keep this in mind for when I try my luck next time

Relax buddy. Not all the VSEs are the same. There are some variations.
Some have a dot that changes red, and/or yellow. Or a semi-circle, as well as have variations such as lengthy pauses, multiple trains, backwards trains etc etc.

As above.

The first exercise was fine. Second one I got about 3-4 wrong and the third (1 and 2 together) I made about 5-6 errors but followed the instructions on priority.

Cheers! I received the invite for the initial 5 tests on the 9th, completed them on the 11th. Received email for M7 and VSE on the 17th, completed on the 18th.

Thanks mate. Yeah, quite surprising given the amount of time people seem to be waiting. Luck of the draw I suppose!

Thanks mate
I’m doing mine on Monday mate after I finish work and get a good sleep. Liverpool too. Is the VSE same as the practice? The boxes with dots and the boxes with letters?

Everyone’s test must be different if you didn’t notice it probably didn’t happen during yours

If everyone noticed everything pretty much everyone would pass. It’s a demanding task and people get distracted by the shapes

There’s some hard things to spot. If people are fixated on just the blue train and not the whole route they would easily miss this stuff.

There are definitely times the train freezes. The move counter at the top gives it away.

I think you might be right about the competition thing, not everyone is at the same stage and you are losing a competitive edge by sharing everything. I did the test by practicing the pdf and having a look at YouTube. Also read carefully the instructions before the test that state what is an error. If I hadn't joined this forum I think I'd feel better off. Should be a rule not to discuss the test until everyone has completed it.

Maybe I’m being paranoid. But my deadline for VSE test is 29th and I’m gonna do it 27th haha they wouldn’t change it or withdraw it would they?
