Will the 25Kv system be reactivated to allow 25Kv working aswell as the 750v DC system ?
If this did happen could the 313 operate with the preserved 315? Maybe the groups could join together to create a longer mainline preserved train to allow for more to experience any tours they are able to run (and before anyone says it, I know mainline tours are a pipe dream presently, but we can be optimistic now and again :D )

I think you're being rather optimistic about the demand for railtours on old 70s suburban stock with no bogs. There just isn't the charm of loco hauled mk1s with a buffet car that attract non enthusiasts (and pays the bills) and they are utterly unsuitable for charter work. The BLS tour was popular because it was a service farewell. These always do well. The best we can hope for is a carriage or two cosmetically restored and stuffed and mounted somewhere.

When are all the scrap runs in own power?
Realitime Trains website - enter a station located between Brighton and Eastleigh - example, Havant - and then enter "all day" for the booked services. The PED storage moves will be in blue, described as Lovers Walk to Eastleigh and Hove to Eastleigh.

201+208 and 206+212 ran Wednesdays, this week's move (220+204) ran Tuesday.

Timing wise, it's been the same path - it's through Havant around 10:50am

You could just do this, filtering by the destination itself and Southern as the operator.

Yes, you're right. The reason I use my local area and not filtered by TOC, is so I see the interesting other stuff too . RTT is why I was able to see 69002+69003 (the latter en route for painting), 3 GBRf 73s on a light engine move, the SWR 701 hauls to Eastleigh, plus regular turns like Merehead to Chichester stone

Yes, quite so, and are they even electronically compatible with locomotives - i.e. to keep the lights on and stuff? There's only so far you can go on the working third rail.

When 4EPB 5001 was painted green and a DC tour favourite (I enjoyed riding it on "The Emerald Water Witch", including off-the-DC trip to the very end of Folkestone Harbour, thanks to 2 MLVs up front!) - many assumed its preservation was a certainty. Instead, it was scrapped.

And - for the same reasons cited here - the PEP and the EPB are not flexible enough to make them viable for future usage.

Potentially excellent news about 313201 and I'm more than happy to help. If any PEP-derived unit deserved to be saved, it is this one.

From what I've heard, it will probably be the only 313 to survive as the NRM have fumbled acquiring 313121.

Potentially 2 sets of class 313s to Eastleigh today as both workings have manually activated as they are a runs as required

Thanks - I saw your post just after seeing 216 + 207 canter through my locality.

2 hours earlier, 6O52 - Merehead to Chichester - had what sounded like severely dragging brake on the rear wagon, the screeching was intense. Here's that working,.behind 59102.

Are all of the recent arrivals at Eastleigh still intact or has scrapping commenced with any of them?

Still intact, for now. Though component recovery by Southern has begun. Raxstar are currently chopping their way through various long stored TDA tankers and JNA wagons on site.
Component recovery? What sort of components are they getting? Are these for spares/repairs (in which case, destined for use in what?), or just grabbing stuff to sell to enthusiasts to claw back some money, etc?

Theres been a bunch of Eastleigh scrapped stuff sold on ebay the last few years… 142, 442, 315 etc…

i have some bits off an Eastleigh 313 in my collection sold from the BLS trip.

Given how much people are paying for panels, number cuts, desk parts etc I suspect the per coach cost alone can be recovered from Enthusiasts bits… then once removed, scrap the rest and youve got your money back plus more.

Would there be any usable parts from these units to keep other classes running as they reach their own twilight- say the ex 508 trailers on the 455s, or the 507/508s?

Presumably removing TOC fitted equipment, radio, OTMR etc. Anyone know if the lease has ended? Until it has, will any scrapping take place? If they are still on lease, they'll stay haulable until hand back. Scrapping could therefore could be done anywhere.

As an aside, do you know why 69003 needs painting already?

Hello - not a repaint. It was earlier this year that I saw 69003 + 69002 running light to Eastleigh. 003 was still only in its works undercoat, lots of body filler! The top coats of paint had yet to be applied.
Ah, I see - this was a while back. I only wondered because this was 69003 in May, resplendent in a new paint scheme.
