Not as great as last year as it is £15 one-way (so £30 for a return) rather than £20 for a return. Although more useful for people using EMR one way.

Although with the LNER single leg pricing some of the fares can be quite close to the offer fares if you know what to buy and have a railcard - eg for Nottingham to Reading, with the offer its £15 to London, £1.75 for the tube and £11 for London to Reading, but you can buy a Bottesford to Reading single for £29 which also gives flexibility

Does anybody know how long it takes for a purchase via LNER to come up as "pending" in the Airtime Rewards app?

Received this from CrossCountry earlier this week :
"We are sorry for the inconvenience caused with our error in sending you an invalid PIN. Please see below a 20% discount PIN to use for your next journey.

To use this offer:
1. Hit the button below
2. Search for your journey
3. Enter the PIN below when prompted
4. You will then be able to select your ticket and complete your purchase

Thanks for being patient with us.
We hope to see you soon!"

I hit the button , enter the code, search for a journey that involves CrossCountry and WestMidlands Trains , but nothing comes up ?
There are no T&Cs with the promotion so is it wholly on CrossCountry??, advance fares only ?? Does anyone know ?
Thanks.

More of an unusual one but there's a free sausage roll from Greggs ATM on LNER Perks.
I've just redeemed mine at Greggs Jesmond. It is genuinely free, no strings, no tricks. I enjoyed every bite.

Just spotted CrossCountry train tickets, there are very cheap advance promotion tickets on some early or late trains especially in the middle of the week from Tuesday to Thursday. I haven't seen any websites or messages about it, what kind of promotion is that?

A fresh batch of cashback offers for LNER has been added to (at least) Halifax and Lloyds cards. Whilst it's only good for one transaction, you can spend up to £500 in one transaction on e-vouchers and redeem them over the course of a year. Just remember that you must not use LNER Perks credit towards the vouchers, otherwise this will make all the voucher value you buy valid only on LNER advances!

A LNER journey I made on 19/7 is still not showing in my Perks history so I will need to chase up on that at some point.
I also noticed today that my O2 Airtime rewards percentage has now reduced to 5% from 8%

Airtimes Rewards is available for all the big mobile operators. It shouldn't matter which account you link it to. If you changed your contract to 3, Vodafone or EE and updated Airtime Rewards, it shouldn't affect the offers.

Whether you have a Visa, Mastercard or both linked might affect your offers, as might your purchase history.

Mine's been 5% on over £70 only for a while now.

If you spend say £100 on e vouchers can you use them for 5 x £20 tickets booked at different times or must you make one ticket booking transaction of £100 or more ?

Yes you can use the vouchers bit by bit

At the moment though the Uber 10% credit rebate on rail tickets is a better deal - especially if you can get Uber credit at a discount through a work benefits scheme.

They can be split across multiple bookings, in any amount.

Just had an offer from Uber. Book National Rail tickets on Uber and get 10% back in Uber credits.

This has been running for some time and is even better value if you can buy Uber credit at less than face value (eg through an employer’s perks scheme or even Airtime Rewards)

Thanks and now see your earlier post above. Seems like a good offer from Uber.

Yesterday I bought Leeds-Sheffield return for £2.
Not many £1 offers east of the Pennines.
However plenty of £1 tickets Manchester Piccadilly-Blackpool North and vice versa.

Laughable availability on the Manchester-Crewe line for smaller stations with no competition. Always the same for Northern.

I think a lot of these tickets have been snapped up quite quickly, which explains low availability now.

As with previous Northern flash sales, the trick is to try splitting your journey at a major calling point. For example we booked £6 return tickets to Scarborough from Sheffield by splitting at Hull. If you just type in Sheffield to Scarborough no flash sale tickets are available.

I checked on Day 1 of the promo - nothing offered at all from Monday-Friday.

Yeah I agree with this, I had to play around with it to get decent results. Nothing from Meadowhall to Hull, but Sheffield got me £1 tickets.

Multiple non-enthusiast acquaintances of mine have booked Skipton-Leeds return and Wakefield-Leeds return as well as me booking Sheffield-Hull return and York-Sheffield, all on the east side, so the tickets have been there.

No help for me - no tickets from Chelford to anywhere other than Piccadilly and then only at a weekend.

it's the same with Advances in general - they have been pulled from the stations with no competition. You can travel on the same train more cheaply from Crewe to Manchester than you can boarding at Chelford or other stations on the line. Simply gouging by Northern, who claim "no demand" - as if it costs to offer them and have people buy more expensive offerings.
