Ballymena bus manufacturer Wrightbus is providing four hydrogen buses to the Sizewell C nuclear power site as part of a pilot scheme.
If successful, up to 150 buses could be ordered, making it one of the largest hydrogen bus fleets in the world.
Construction of the plant is to begin next year and multiple vehicles will be needed to move workers to and from the site.
Sizewell C will test the performance of four double-decker buses.
Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Wrightbus, said the company was delighted to be working with Sizewell C, which is in Suffolk in England.
"We continue to invest in hydrogen technology as a driver to developing cleaner, more efficient transport solutions," he said.
Julia Pyke, joint managing director of Sizewell C said a hydryogen-power fleet would mean lower carbon emissions.
"I am excited that we will potentially kickstart a market for this important low-carbon fuel in the east of England," she said.

So from this can we assume Sizewell C will be operating the buses themselves rather than contracting out? First currently provide the ‘Somerset Passenger Solutions’ contract for a similar plant in the Westcountry.

With First and Go-Ahead both in the East you’d think they’d be very keen to try getting their hands on a lucrative contract involving 150 buses.

No, it's First and people working in Somerset have the option to transfer to Suffolk when the new power station is completed. Once complete, there will be a permanent requirement for buses to/from Hinkley C so even after this there'll still be buses and drivers going to HPC.

It's going to be a green nuclear power station. Yes, I'm struggling with that definition too.

One of the Hydroliners was recently spotted on what's likely to be a delivery run. No official registration yet (trade plates for now) and fleetnumber is in the 397** range.

Yes they have an operator licence in Suffolk now.
