It is indeed a Lima model.Nice. Is that a Lima model?

Picked up an old Bachmann Budd Metroliner in Amtrak livery for a pittance. It runs quite well with a very nice crawl, but the metal chassis is ridiculously heavy and the cab lighting (there is no other lighting) is very overblown.
My thinking is that this will be perfect as a 'scenic runner' for my American-set Inglenook shunting layout; just running on a separate track to the yard itself, giving the illusion of passing traffic.
That looks brilliant and I like your idea of running it as passing traffic.
So many models have lights that are way too bright. I tend to take them apart and tone them down a little as I think it makes them look more realistic. For instance on this one:

When I first took a photo of it the marker lights were absolutely blinding!![]()
You really need to stop posting photos of real trains and pretending that it's a model! That looks brilliant and I like your idea of running it as passing traffic.

Fabulous modelling (and photo). Above the signalbox - is that a tree, or a tyrannosaurus rex? That looks brilliant and I like your idea of running it as passing traffic.

Is that on approach to a station somewhere on the West of England line?

Gosh, now that is the level of skill that I hope to emulate one day. Absolutely gorgeous, that front end is sublime! That looks brilliant and I like your idea of running it as passing traffic.

Can't beat a bit of Lima. Easy to maintain and they still look pretty decent, even after all these years. I was at GETS too, man, it was busy!Visited GETS, and picked up these. (I have two of the second class coaches) the coaches were £24.50 each and the loco was £48. All Lima.

They'll look much nicer with a BR blue class 20 at each end, but they don't seem to come up on eBay very often.....Very nice indeed!

@Cowley Cheers....I had noticed that there's a few gaps. I managed to get an old GF 20139 on the cheap but it needs a thorough service and a DCC socket fitted. The GF Class 25/2 model (371-080) from 2012 isn't too bad (I have 25279 on the weathering bench now!) but a DCC ready class 25/1 with full door would certainly be a nice addition. A split headcode 40 and 45 in BR Blue FYE would be nice too. And I've already allocated project status to my future blue 47/3 as one of those isn't appearing any time soon.No there’s certain N gauge stuff that seems to be very difficult to get hold of unfortunately @D1511.
Crikey, that's dear for a wagon! I haven't got any rare freight wagons as far as I'm aware, although the old school VTG Ferrywagons aren't exactly being given away! I have noticed a dearth of MK1 sleepers though, and there's fierce bidding war whenever they come up.was thinking about getting another Polybulk the other day (long since discontinued) and they’re fetching upwards of £65 per wagon!
That 47 looks like it's been in a fire! These are my latest, both for scenery!
Here's my first model rail related purchase in quite some time, just a few figures for the OO-9 trench railway diorama I'm making with a friend:

Those nurses uniforms look a bit too clean if you ask me... need to get a little weathering going!
Now that I have a car, I've no excuse not to crack on with both projects.
Stunning! Most recently, this pair of renumbered Bachmann class 37s, representing two solidly Scottish locos - 37025 and 37404 'Ben Cruachan' - in 1992/93 condition as befitting the year and general area in which my layout is set.
Bachmann 37s are quite marvelous things - I have a few, it's fair to say, and they're the backbone of my loco fleet. All fitted with etched metal nameplates on named examples as well.Stunning!

It's still very much a work in progress and, due to being in a cellar, lighting levels aren't ideal for photography but I can rustle up a few recent shots that give an overall look.I know, I have the same problemI think I have 5 Bachamann ones
Can we see more of your layout please?

Crianlarich-ish through station along one side of a continuous loop with a fiddle yard along the opposite side (and partially screened from view from the scenic side). Island platform with passing loop on a single track line, with separate freight facilities for timber loading at one end and handling Speedlink traffic in the old goods shed at the other. Note that there are semaphore signals here, rather than assuming RETB has superseded them in the 1992-3 period I operate to, because semaphore signals are just more fun, and help to focus the mind as reassurance that I have set routes correctly while operating the schedule.

Separate branch off the loop, leading up the back wall of the cellar (past a modest freight terminal) and curving round to a Fort William-esque, slightly Buxton-ish terminus with small loco servicing depot that's just about justified by the traffic levels. Long double-faced island platform for passengers, shorter bays at the back of the station cater for Motorail and parcels traffic. Lots of work still to do here, it's only half ballasted at present and the platforms were only recently surfaced.

Many thanks, it's gotten quite out of hand since I got back into the railway modelling hobby during lockdown three-and-a-bit years ago haha. I'm learning as I go along (and making plenty of mistakes!), and there's still a long way to go, and a lot of little details required to really place it in the right era, but quite satisfying views are beginning to present themselves as the scenic work progresses. That looks very good I must say. Absolutely my kind of era and location too. I love the view with the piles of logs in the foreground, that’s a very Scottish scene.
