Red chippings is normally a give away for a Scottish station. Unless your picture is the exception to the rule!

When you see green hills, countryside and a genuinely nice looking area, you start to think rural England, Scotland.

The type of stone used in station construction was often locally sourced and hence quite telling of the stations' location. Styles of platform decoration are also often relevant to a particular geographical area.

Having said that, I'm going to go with an English guess. Wylam?

As for the others, no and no. I like how my entries are (a) better and (b) mr fequent since my trip! It shows that having now been up north in a photting capacity I am more confident and able at this!

OK; another clue. It would take an extreme set of circumstances for anything capable of 125 to come here. That rules out stations via Gretna and Kilmarnock, because said route is a common diversion during engineering works.
