Oh yes definitely it would be well overworked dealing with cromford hill I'm sure it's a 1 in 8 incline around 2 miles long. I'm sure a few Belper duties only operate between derby and Ripley and are parked up at half 6
Yeah, could always get a Volvo painted in the sixes livery to have on there. Its not like they haven't had a allocation like that before. With 491 being a little six vehicle while the rest were Solars. As well as H1 having mainly Volvo and then 1 versa so its not like it couldn't happen.

For Cromford Hill, a bus is a challenge. Over the years, it seems to have finished a few off

IMO they should have ordered MMCs for the sixes rather than cascade the Versa's on to it, its not like the rainbow one is an easy route either

Yea 267 seems to be quite troublesome as of late. Out of all the older solos i dont mind driving 491 as its got some power to it so it copes with the hill alot better than its sister 492...(less said about that one the better) but both have the same issue of very Dodgey fuel gauges. Late in the day once yo get down to a quater of a tank it cant decide if you have got any fuel or not so spent my return trip with the fuel light constatnly turning on and off .

827 can do the sixes route but with it having a solo engine it does put alot more strain on the engine on those routes.
Can imagine 492 climbing the hill into Alfreton southbound. Up to 30, in your dreams.

I thought at the time, Belper depot made it clear they didn't want Enviro 200MMCs

I was not aware of that, anyway the vast majority of maintenance for the sixes fleet occurs at Derby, Belper is just an outstation

From what I gather the ECU failed which caused the gearbox to go haywire and seize and take the engine out in the process (at 40mph from what i was told). I have not heard this it is a right off but I don't think it takes a smart man to see that there is a high chance it could be.
Is 841 a confirmed write-off?

Funnily enough, I managed to photograph this vehicle this gone weekend. [15/06/2024]

If it does come back it won't be for a good while.

In other news, 482 has been taken into the workshop for rear axle removal, apparently. So the days are very much numbered before it gets taken away for scrap.

Wonder who it’ll go to now… shame to see looms shut after all these years, the pile of scrap is absolutely huge at the moment

I noticed the 3 former Trentbarton Scanias were still by the wall this afternoon. Also noticed one of the new Villager Enviros 200MMCs in Derby bus station, circa 16.40. Think it went back to Langley Mill, as it went down Phoenix Street.

301 (YY24 HAA) is now at Derby. Been spotted a few times around Derby & Burton so will more than likely be on driver familiarisation.

Also to be noted with the villager ADLs (301-5) that all the circle branding is different.

Not sure where it’s off, I’ve just spotted it on the A610 heading towards Nottingham.

I will find out in the morning if it's at Derby when I clock on. I do want a look round it before I have my familiarisation of it at some point.

Spotted 301 at the bus station as I left on 740 at 1645. Presumably all the circles are places on the route as 301 is the bridge over the trent at Burton. Not sure about 302.

265 now back in use, but who knows (or wants to guess) how long The Allestree will boast a full compliment of working branded buses?

It was only off 6 weeks.... I think 267 is the one that keeps having issues at the moment, like days of the trot .. I let it out of a bus layby, but it managed to keep going ..Now, get the feeling that sister 269 had issues early on, on V3.

I know a lot of people hate Streelites, but the ones in Derby seem a lot more reliable than the TrentBarton E200s.

826 has been spotted on the back row of Langley Mill, assuming it’s been taken off of Notts&Derby for repaint.

If everything goes to plan it should join 827 at Derby & be allocated to V3s

Is there a reason the V3 doesn't have branded vehicles?
Many plans for the V3 have come & gone, with the most being to merge with the harlequin.

Normally when routes at Trent Barton become debranded, within the year they disappear into the history books, the V3 is a lovely route in fairness.

Christ don’t even get me started on them  was on one a few weeks ago & it gave me a migraine because it was vibrating that much.

Notts and Derby will miss 826, and in time 823...I am sure Trentbarton will find it as reliable as, say 827. Could just see it in green and blue on 71s.

The V3 use to be part of the villager but when the Volvo's came it was 'split' becoming a unbranded route.
I remember when there was also the V2. A fascinating tour of a housing estate in Etwall, then to Egginton , then somewhere in the Stretton area. By the time I got to Burton, it was time to come home. Can't be long before the Enviros on Villager enter service.

Well they haven't all been delivered yet, so might be longer than you think.

Plus TB are teasing a launch event, but there's no date attached to it yet....

I spoke to a member of the customer service team at a Kinchbus Skylink event (Same company...). She said there's to be four separate launch events, one for each route; they're all to be on weekends.
