I'm finding this information interesting, but I'd like to understand a bit more about the diagrams.
If I stand on a Crosscity line platform and a Redditch-Four Oaks arrived, in 2 and a half-hours the same unit(s) should arrive, so I'd have seen four different trains.
Similarly if a Bromsgrove-Lichfield arrives, in 3 hours I'd see the same unit(s) again, so I'd have seen five different trains.
My simple mind says only nine diagrams are required. Your list shows eleven.

Is the difference because some diagrams don't last the whole of the service day, so units are in effect swapped?

Your maths is incorrect. After 2.5 hours you will have seen 5 Redditch units (00:00 = 1, 00:30 = 2, 01:00 = 3, 01:30 = 4, 02:00 = 5 and then 02:30 = 1). Similarly, 6 Bromsgrove units over 3 hours. (It’s like the old school problem with the number of telegraph poles being one more than the number of gaps between the poles.)

Nicely explained. It's my age!

Is this a 730, does anybody know?
No, its not

The 730 diagram leaves Wolverhampton at:

07:48
10:18
12:48
15:18
17:48
20:18
22:48

The other trains on the circuit are class 350.

Hope this helps.

Does anyone have an accurate list of which 730s are stored at Doncaster Belmont.
My notes state 730025/26/34/35/42/43 and 730205/14/19/222.
Is that correct.
Many thanks in advance.

Bargain !. Trp to Willesden required - thanks.

Question - It seems the 730/0s (meant for Birmingham) come to Willesden (or at least South WCML) for acceptance, Fault Free Running and use before going to Birmingham. Is that correct ?.

Not necessarily. After Willesden units could be delivered to Bletchley for final fettling similar to the way 720's go to Ilford. Just keep watching PTS.

Yes Bletchley figures quite prominently. Also Camden sometimes has a pair of 730/0s that are not in passenger service (also not forgetting the long term residents 730210, 730211, 730212 & 730217).

I think I will await these 730/0s inevitable use being exposed on PTS on the South WCML. I assume passenger use on the South WCML is inevitable before going to Birmingham ?.

Travelled on one for the first time today. It was a 6 car train almost completely full even though there is a lot of standing space. I thought they were going to be used as 9 car trains on the Tring and MK locals? I hope the 730/2 will run as 10 car trains when they enter service. If they run as 5 car trains there will be problems.

I saw 205 as I went past today, but couldn't ID any others. Would also welcome confirmation!

This may have been mentioned before and I wonder if anyone else has noticed: I travelled on 730010+730002 on 11th June from Euston to Watford and noticed that the automatic passenger announcements were telling us that "This is a West Midlands service to Tring" - which of course it was not. All automated announcements stated that it was a "West Midlands" service but of course it is a London North Western service, which was correctly announced on the 350 that I changed into at Watford. One assumes that the 730/0s are programmed to say "West Midlands" and you can't overrule it.

@Geeves

PTS reporting 730s on passenger service but I am up near Euston today so wondering if there are any on test at the London end within zone 6ish or resting at Camden/Willesden. Have not got a sniff of new test candidates 730029 and 730041.

Thanks @Geeves , looks like 29 and 41 have slipped past me !. I am really getting towards the scraping the bottom of the barrel stage with the twelve (25%) of the 730/0s I have left to get !.
