I was innocently thinking that the line of text appearing at the bottom of your posts must be jargon - but maybe not!Just a little reminder that any jargon must be defined first before use.
Buses don’t need to be allocated in order, they can be in different depots. The fleet number is just the fleet number. Originally 1003, 1004, 1013 & 1028-1049 were at Lothian Country with the rest at Lothian. It just depends on where they decide to put them. Why is 1001 at a different depot to the rest? It has seemed a random fleet allocation for a while.
However Lothian in recent times have made it evident they want to put them in order with the reallocation of ex Londons.Buses don’t need to be allocated in order, they can be in different depots. Lothian, Lothian Country and East Coast Buses have all stopped tracking on bus times.
No, its the second time at least.Bus tracking systems across both apps aren't working. If you go into the integrated m-ticket/bus times app, they've added a little notification to let everyone know. Is this the first time this has happened since the launch of the new integrated app?
I was hoping for them to transition once the AVLs were fully rolled out onto buses, which was now a few months ago. I am now hoping that it'll change with the service change on Sunday but I am not confident that it will. What are the chances of the new AVL system being fully rolled out to the point of having bus trackers at stops working again by the end of September? I somewhat suspect it may be low, and am assunimg that the BZLs will likely use the temporary system at first, as it's only two days until they're meant to enter service.
Or if a bus is swapped over, the fresh bus often doesn't appear on the tracker on bustime plus the App despite the AVL on the fresh bus very clearly showing the correct info for what the bus is actually doing. However Lothian in recent times have made it evident they want to put them in order with the reallocation of ex Londons.
The tracking issue started around 11pm last night and is yet to be resolved. It's the exact same problem as last time. They really need to roll out the new AVL system in full instead of relying on this temporary one which has proven unreliable.
The system I am referring to is one where only the location data is taken from the AVL, with the route / bus stop information being manually inserted by control - this has been in use since the 600s were introduced into service and the number of vehicles using it has gradually grown over the last few years. The trip will change regardless of where the bus is, so if its broken down it'll keep showing as normal while broken down causing incorrect live times on the app/website, or if a bus is late near the terminus it'll track as if its already on the return leg.
Odd to see that 670 has stayed at Central, unless it will be moved tonight.671-680 appear to have moved to Marine.
From tomorrow (Sunday 8 September), the first of our brand-new double-deck electric buses will enter service!
Keep your eyes peeled on Services 8 and 9 to catch a glimpse of the new additions to our fleet on our road to net zero.
I would find it likely it will move to Longstone if it’s not moved yet. That’s been done intentionally in my opinion.Odd to see that 670 has stayed at Central, unless it will be moved tonight.

Twitter Announcement
Officially confirmed that the BZLs will begin service on the 8/9 tomorrow (Sunday).
Just to add to this, 671 still Central allocated for the moment. Again, I suspect this and 670 will end up at Longstone later.I would find it likely it will move to Longstone if it’s not moved yet. That’s been done intentionally in my opinion.
will the BZLs more likely go out at the start of service tomorrow, or go into service with some kind of launch later in the day?
427 and 1000 have been moved to Longstone now as well.671-680 appear to have moved to Marine.
How many will be out? I am aware 10-12 are at Central but don’t know how many are equipped for service.Officially confirmed that the BZLs will begin service on the 8/9 tomorrow (Sunday).
Unknown how many will be out, if there’s enough ready for service I’d expect the routes to be fully converted from tomorrow. How many will be out? I am aware 10-12 are at Central but don’t know how many are equipped for service.

To be fair that livery does go well on them. It’s esentially the same livery as pre Harlequin just with a few different bits of gold trimI just saw 709 and 710. 710 was on the 8
I agree. I really like itTo be fair that livery does go well on them. It’s esentially the same livery as pre Harlequin just with a few different bits of gold trim
670 and 671 still in Central, most of 672-678 out on Marine routes today, assuming these will be to cover the 15/45 extension and the extra peak work despite it only being a PVR increase of 4 or 5Just to add to this, 671 still Central allocated for the moment. Again, I suspect this and 670 will end up at Longstone later.
Several of 426-437 still haven’t moved so I think they’ll get round to them later.670 and 671 still in Central, most of 672-678 out on Marine routes today, assuming these will be to cover the 15/45 extension and the extra peak work despite it only being a PVR increase of 4 or 5
it's currently showing 253 as being on the 37, which is funny to imagine but obviosly incorrect, and I wouldn't have thought a tram tracker ending up in a bus would be that likelyInterestingly, the 19 is all 2017 Zoo-branded B5TL/Gemini 3s (normally 2014 B5TL/G3s), the 22 is all 2015 B5LH hybrids, and the 26 has a relatively large number of 2021 B5/E400s.
From using the "Rare" and individual route searches on lvf.io.
It's still the old system so its control manually signing buses in. This would've been a typo.it's currently showing 253 as being on the 37, which is funny to imagine but obviosly incorrect, and I wouldn't have thought a tram tracker ending up in a bus would be that likely
