Just a little reminder that any jargon must be defined first before use.
I was innocently thinking that the line of text appearing at the bottom of your posts must be jargon - but maybe not!

PVR is probably short for Peak Vehicle Requirement: the number of buses needed to run a bus service each day.

Why is 1001 at a different depot to the rest? It has seemed a random fleet allocation for a while.
Buses don’t need to be allocated in order, they can be in different depots. The fleet number is just the fleet number. Originally 1003, 1004, 1013 & 1028-1049 were at Lothian Country with the rest at Lothian. It just depends on where they decide to put them.

However Lothian in recent times have made it evident they want to put them in order with the reallocation of ex Londons.

The tracking issue started around 11pm last night and is yet to be resolved. It's the exact same problem as last time. They really need to roll out the new AVL system in full instead of relying on this temporary one which has proven unreliable.

The system I am referring to is one where only the location data is taken from the AVL, with the route / bus stop information being manually inserted by control - this has been in use since the 600s were introduced into service and the number of vehicles using it has gradually grown over the last few years. The trip will change regardless of where the bus is, so if its broken down it'll keep showing as normal while broken down causing incorrect live times on the app/website, or if a bus is late near the terminus it'll track as if its already on the return leg.

What are the chances of the new AVL system being fully rolled out to the point of having bus trackers at stops working again by the end of September? I somewhat suspect it may be low, and am assunimg that the BZLs will likely use the temporary system at first, as it's only two days until they're meant to enter service.

Bus tracking systems across both apps aren't working. If you go into the integrated m-ticket/bus times app, they've added a little notification to let everyone know. Is this the first time this has happened since the launch of the new integrated app?

No, its the second time at least.

I was hoping for them to transition once the AVLs were fully rolled out onto buses, which was now a few months ago. I am now hoping that it'll change with the service change on Sunday but I am not confident that it will.
I don't know what they are doing internally which is making it take so long. It could also be that they will roll it out at the same time as the live times on the bus stop screens which could be any day now.

Or if a bus is swapped over, the fresh bus often doesn't appear on the tracker on bustime plus the App despite the AVL on the fresh bus very clearly showing the correct info for what the bus is actually doing.

671-680 appear to have moved to Marine.
Odd to see that 670 has stayed at Central, unless it will be moved tonight.

From tomorrow (Sunday 8 September), the first of our brand-new double-deck electric buses will enter service!

Keep your eyes peeled on Services 8 and 9 to catch a glimpse of the new additions to our fleet on our road to net zero.

Officially confirmed that the BZLs will begin service on the 8/9 tomorrow (Sunday).

There's approximately 10 BZLs at Central today (possibly one or two more).

One thing that I'm happy to see is that they seem to have figured out the livery just below the windows on the nearside, with the white being even from the doors to the back.

The bus tracker is a bit messed up today for Lothian Country. You have the 72 going to Mid Calder, the X18, X27 & X28 going to Eliburn. This is on the new app.

Just to add to this, 671 still Central allocated for the moment. Again, I suspect this and 670 will end up at Longstone later.
670 and 671 still in Central, most of 672-678 out on Marine routes today, assuming these will be to cover the 15/45 extension and the extra peak work despite it only being a PVR increase of 4 or 5

Several of 426-437 still haven’t moved so I think they’ll get round to them later.

Interestingly, the 19 is all 2017 Zoo-branded B5TL/Gemini 3s (normally 2014 B5TL/G3s), the 22 is all 2015 B5LH hybrids, and the 26 has a relatively large number of 2021 B5/E400s.

From using the "Rare" and individual route searches on lvf.io.

it's currently showing 253 as being on the 37, which is funny to imagine but obviosly incorrect, and I wouldn't have thought a tram tracker ending up in a bus would be that likely

It's still the old system so its control manually signing buses in. This would've been a typo.
